Who else likes the Yak-9U as much as me? Need a partner for a duel vs. two 51s

Am looking for someone who really likes, and flies, the Yak-9U.  Just email me at   guerrero@oz.net  .

Reason is to fight two P-51Ds in a best of five duel (conditions to be decided).  Incidently, the P-51D drivers have yet to be found as well, so any pony pilots interested please post below as well.

This whole duel fever has got to me too, I guess

I like the yak alot too leo--but still feeling it out. had a real good fight with hBlair in a G-10 and the yak did well, however Heath ended up the winner. If you donbt find who you want I will work in a pinch.

Hmmm... interesting duel Leonid.

Considering the two planes I have been flying are the Yak and the Pony, this could be real interesting.

If its a standard cold co-E merge at 10,000 ft, I would bet on the Yak's unless the Pony drivers are real good at vertical HO's.

Of course the Pony's could run at will (as long as they don't get slow), which make them superior in the arena, but I think the vertical performance of the Yak's would have the upper hand in a duel.

I like the Yak, and it's best move is 45 deg climb just after merge. The Pony also zoom climbs well, so who ever gets on top there it would be interesting upon the reverse. The Ponys will enter the fight staggered about d5 front to back and try drag n' bag until the fight gets low, at which point if the Yak's can force it vertical they have a good chance. You'll need 2 refs to make sure neither side dives into the merge.

Would be fun.

No, you're not bad, Cleaner.  I just wanted to see who was out there into the Yak    Right now I see towd, ammo, verm(?), dosequis, and cleaner as possible wingies.  Should there be an answer to the challenge, then I'll let it be known who'll be wingie.

Actually I think it's most interesting that no P-51 drivers have taken the challenge.  Very interesting, indeed ...

Well, if no P-51 drivers answer the challenge in the next few days, I can only assume that the Yak-9U is a superior aircraft by default.

Hmm, I think I'll post again, explicitly stating that I challenge two P-51D drivers to a duel at 10k.
