eddiek,

yeah the players over there are for the most part great people.  I had the pleasure of flying with them for almost 5 years and still miss alot of them, like prop all the trainers who were there when i was a trainer.  They're all good people, I just can't for the life of me figure out why they'd still give money to IEN after almost 3 years of AH setting the standard of WW2 MMPOG and superior customer support

HS is an arse (this in itself I would think should drive away most of the player base)  I quit because of that fool (HS) when I was a trainer (waited for 3 years to get that job too) and got my WB for free.  I can't imagine giving him money.....

AH customer support is top notch.
I've called down there several time, YANKEE is always pleasant and willing to either help me or direct me to whomever CAN help me if the problem is beyond her.
There were some good trainers over there, ==sd== just seemed to stand out......the guy took the time to work with me in H2H when I told him I had an upcoming duel on the Challenge Ladder.  We stayed online working on strategy for over 2 hours, then I went out and swept the match.
I don't begrudge anyone their choice of sims, I just know what works for me.  Sometimes we AH'ers give ourselves a bad rep going over to the other sim's BBS and talking trash, I try not to, but I get damn tired of seeing this sim slammed the way they do sometimes.

yeah I won't go over there and trash talk WB, too many friends over there.

BUT :D

I will trash talk it here, though not the code because most of that's HT's and it's the best part of thier game LOL.  You know I almost took a job there about 3 years ago, 1 month before I quit playing WB. (did i mention it was free for me when I quit? :D)

Honestly though I really was suprised by the WB3 beta back in august.  I couldn't believe how much like the old WB it was, just a new paint job is all they did for 3 years!!!!!!! 3 years!!!!!! ok 2.5 years, but still.   Look how far we've come over here in the past 2.5 years.

You gotta love HTC's K.I.S.S. buisiness model (KeepIt Simple Stupid! :D)  it works better than the corporate thing, and they probobly make more money too!

I've had the displeasure of reading quite many of HS posts now, and he's always anoyingly rude, just don't give a rats bellybutton about the community, and as soon as Target Korea was anounced he made an F86 for WB3... HA!

Besides, WB3 ailerons are connected to the stick with a very cheap rubber band and it takes a year for it to actually react, 190 FEEELS GREAT LIKE THAT! Ok, let's roll, stick fully left, 1 second... 2... 3... AND WE'RE ROLLING!

You just pegged the worst thing with that sim besides the people who own it.  By the time the damn thing starts rolling it's already time to roll the other direction.  I think I saw somebody over there say that you have to do like full left aileron, stick center, full right aileron, stick center....  basicly the way i read it was that you have to center the stick after each control surface movement, then do the next movement after it's centered long enough to register (.5 seconds 1 second I don't know)  Yeah! that's a simulation of flying!!

As long as were discussing WB...

About a month ago I figured Id give it a try - tried to sign up for an account and couldnt get the CPID I wanted... ok - so I took me back... choose another... taken... again.. taken.  Then I get the message "You have attempted to create too many accounts today."  Ok fine, diddly it - WB is crap anyway, right.  :P  So I get my credit card bill and I have 3 charges for 24.95... pissed am I.  So I call... I get an annoying "siren" at account maint. line... tech support doesnt answer and every one of my 6 emails has gone without a response... WTF am I supposed to do?  Anyone have a service number that DOES work!?!?!

Call your credit card and dispute the charges. They wont stick.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

It took almost 5 months, plus a letter to iEN and a copy to the Missouri Attorney General to get my account closed at iEN.

Hey, I like the folks who fly WB's however, the company that operates it suffers from Cranial-Rectal Inversion Syndrome.

Don't you mean North Carolina?

Or better yet, give me $1000 and I'll go down to their offices (about 30 minutes from here) and put the smack down on HS and friends for ya, baseball bat and blowtorch style.

For $1000 more I'll film it.  :D

Let me tell you what, if and when WBs3 goes retail you will see many hundreds (if not more) instead of low 80s during peak and those who love that little community will get the shock of their online lives as a result (not to mention the all too predictable problems with customer support which will increase proportionately).

I left WBs because I knew D&D and crew had their toejam packed tightly together and if I loved WBs, which I did dearly, then the next deal would be better and it was and remains.
