Parenting?  Maybe, but I see it as more theology.  Each camp is so afraid that if they admit the other sim has any good points, it makes their ghod (sim) less holy.

Sad really.  And all this partisan passion does a real disservice to both communities and both sims.

As to who "invented" what ...

Air Warrior originated the online air arenas.  AW originated the basic view system still in use here and in WB.  In fact, 90% of how either sim behaves can be traced to origins in AW.

Does that make HT a "code coon" too?  Not really, or at least no more (or less) so than HS.

It just means that intelligent people don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.  If it aint broke don't "fix" it.  Build on it.  Make it better if you can.  Don't change what already works simply for the sake of change or because it wasn't invented here.

It'd be a fine thing (read: real mess) if every car maker put the turn signals in a different place simply because they didn't originate the idea of a turn signal and put it on the left side of the steering column first.

Narsus, I know where you're speaking from..

like Udie, I have a 'soft spot' in my memory for WB, since it's where I got my wings (so to speak),

it's simply the aspect of how the IEN team treats it's customers.
I left for that very reason, have followed events and still believe it's the same ol thing at WB.. crappy service.

How can one be loyal to the company that treats it's paying customers like dirt ?

It has nothing to do with the pilots .. they're (you're) a great community but.. IEN bites IMO.

We aren't talking who invented what... we talking about who created what.

Kesmai created Air Warrior from scratch.

ICI(HiTech)/Domark created WarBirds (originally Confirmed Kill) from scratch.

iEN took WarBirds and modified the hell out of it, but still the basic underlying structure was/is HiTech's.

HT is not a code coon because he didn't come along after most of the work on WarBirds was done and start adding some things to call it his own... he started it.
