Well I'm glad most everyone (so far) likes the song! I didn't figure it would have a bad effect on animals, though. I should have been more careful...

Any metal fans out there?  Iron Maiden has a song Titled Aces High,

Aces High
Steve Harris

There goes the siren that warns of the air raid
Then comes the sound of the guns sending flak
Out for the scramble we've got to get airborne
Got to get up for the coming attack.

Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines
Remove all the wheelblocks there's no time to waste
Gathering speed as we head down the runway
Gotta get airborne before it's too late.

Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live. Aces high.

Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers
Let off a sharp burst and then turn away
Roll over, spin round and come in behind them
Move to their blindsides and firing again.

Bandits at 8 O'clock move in behind us
Ten ME-109's out of the sun
Ascending and turning our spitfires to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns

Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live, Aces high.

Not to woory Biggles... Studley's dog runs under the couch every time he turns the computer on.
The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

I feel better now! Thanks for clearing that up, Hangtime.

Those Iron Maiden lyrics are great. I'm going to have to try to track that song down, I don't think I've heard it. I'll see if audiogalaxy has it.

I love Iron Maiden mostly for their great lyrics.  Aces High comes from the Powerslave albumn.  came out in 1984.

Thanks again to everyone who has listened.   The song did pretty well for a day or so, getting to a high of #23 in Classic Rock, which is a highly competitive genre (lots of big names in the top 40, usually). It's now down to #50 but that's the nature of the beast on mp3.com.    A video would be cool!
