Got A Band-aide?
« on: March 15, 2002, 12:10:36 PM »
Assuming that I have actually made it through a fight and have managed to limp home with my damaged aircraft, is there someway to repair it at my airfield? I know the resupply tarmac returns my ammo and fuel to full staus..but what about that missing tail section?

No, not on aircraft.  Exit and grab a new bird.

With Ground vehicles, you can re-supply them and repair them with a C47 resupply drop.

It's true, but you have to get someone willing to fly them to you and drop them near you...all before someone kills you.

I've been resupplied in a GV before, but what I was querying was the repairs?  I understood the only way to get GVs repaired was to end the mission and come out in a new one, just like aircraft?  :)

with all the great realism in AH, I am surprised not to find this option available. I would also believe a bonus to scoring would be in order for those who actually continued mutiple sorties with the same aircraft. Or is this already in place?

There is a bonus in place of a sort.  If you simply continue the same sortie by refueling and rearming, your Kill # counter does not reset.  So if I kill 2 planes with my Jug, then land and rearm/refuel and take off again and kill another plane, it will say "Kill #3 by Lephturn of The Flying Pigs".  If I kill 2 planes, land and exit, get a new plane, then kill another one, it will have reset and I will get "Kill #1 by Lephturn of The Flying Pigs".

Think of it as part of the simulation.  In real life, you would exit the plane and end your sortie while a crew repaired even minor damage and checked your bird over before the next sortie.  However, you might land and refuel/rearm without climbing out if you were flying CAP for example.  I think it works pretty well.
