Is the Jug finally Beaten?
« on: March 16, 2002, 09:50:05 AM »
Ok, let's see how long it takes for Ammo & Co to get in here :D

Has the Jug finally been beaten in the Jabo role? Is the 110 G2 (when it comes to destruction on the ground) the new supreme Ground attack plane? I think so ;)

Tried it some offline, 2x500kg bombs and 4 50 kg bombs. 750 rounds of 20mm and 255 rounds of 30mm.

You can take out 2 normal hangers with that and still have about 40 30mm and 450 20mm left :)

JUG RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly though, it would be a close call.  If the Jug pilot was extremely accurate I think it might just win still.

If you take the fantasy loadout of 2x1K, 1x500, and 10 rockets, the Jug can probably do more damage to field objects or a city than the 110. Ten rockets seems to be about the equivalent of a 1K bomb.

Anyway, the 110 is a great jabo so the LW should be happy.

Pfft, Jug can hand the 110 it's bellybutton even if the pilot was blindfolded and had his hands tied behind his back (slight exaggeration here, but you get the point :D). So, the 110 might be a tiny bit more capable as a ground pounder, but if I was planning on getting back in one part or at least getting back, I'd choose the Jug.

Can it actually loose the engine?  Then it's undermodelled!

LOL STAGA! :D

RA, belive me, I am happy, oh yes! I AM HAPPY! :)

37mm loadout could be nice for anti tank purpose too but hell, what we have now is nice, and we finally have the Jabo we've wanted. No more difficult to make it to the target in a fully loaded 110 then in a fully loaded Jug :)

Using a Jug for ground attack is a waste anyway!  Sheesh. :)

I've been flying the 110 G2 a bit in the CT... it's quite a nice JABO bird.  However, if I'm fighting on the way back home, I'll take the Jug. :)

True. What a horrible place to be after you just had a few great passes on a field when you look up to see lots of bad guys diving in on you!!! Id rather be in the Jug.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
