Possible IRQ conflicts?
« on: March 17, 2002, 08:50:09 PM »
Was checking my system and noticed something when i saw the list of IRQ's.  I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is indeed a conflict here?

I know how to fix it (thanks Weazel), just curious if there is a problem or not.

You know the old saying, if it ain't broke...
The one that stands out to me is your video card and linksys card on the same interrupt (11). Try to share (7) since your not going to be printing all the time. But if your not having any problems leave it. My 2 cents

IRQ 5 is open and your serial port is using IRQ 4.

If you don't have a device using that COM port you can disable it in the BIOS and use the info I sent to force your ethernet card and SBLive to use IRQs 4&5.

I would fix it, just remember to keep the Original Configuration file unchanged in case you need to revert back to it.

You should get that NIC card off the same IRQ as the vid card if you can Math

move the NIC if you have to

Mathman,..the SBLive drivers do not like to share interrupts and having your video card sharing with your ethernet card is not good either.

If you can fix them both, I think you will see better and more reliable performance from your system.
