Transmitting Problems w/AHVoice

One more thing. Those that are heard weakly are also very distorted. It could simply be the low level of the originating signal causing the apparent distortion or it might the amount of compression/bandwidth causing both.

Very strong voice sounds have virtually no compression detectable.

Just my observations.

SB Live here .

I had 'soft' mic at first.. no problems now.

just turned up the mic all the way (for recording, not playback)
in SB live's equalizer.

Noticed last night that the volume of AH voice seemed to "wander"....it would be loud and clear for a while, then it would get real faint. This was on both transmit and receive. First problem I've run into with it. Running SB Live 5.1 and WinXP

Seems to be a problem with SB Live users only

I"ve also got the disappearing SB Live problem.  When I first log in, I can hear folks and see my name if I transmit to myself (never hear myself tho).  I can hear people talking in the tower.

It goes away tho.  I've never heard anyone talking in flight.  And after a bit, my name doesn't show up in the corner when I try to transmit to myself.  There's still a tiny video skip when I hit one of the transmit buttons though, just as you get when you hit the screen shot key.

I'm using a sb live and don't have any problems with rw/ team sound / or ahv.

Simple dx output follows, I havn't updated my via drivers in ages. They're most likely over 1 year old. Mobo is an Abit KT7, pc133 memory.
