Destroyer Command got a 2.5 out of 10 from gamespot.  I'm not touching that with a 10 foot pole.

be warned silent hunter is not win xp compatable.
i had issues with it dropping to desktop and leaving just the black screen program running(prevents you from seeing your desktop when switching station views)
I wrote to tech suport and explained the problems, they told me how to disable the black screen program so i could drop DIRECTLY to desktop when the game crashes and not have to kill the black screen program

Yea, that review was bias crap.

Even if some Quakes and MOHAAs gets plus 90 points in reviews, I wouldn't give those more than perhaps 70 - and most points coming from graphics, while gameplay wouldn't get any points.

With this assumption, can be said that the reviewer was obviously playing wrong type of a game.

What do we learn? never trust your opinion on reviewers :)

I bought it but it wouldn't work with my XP machine so I put it on the shelf. I guess I'll have to download the patch..thanks.

I had DC installed and it crashed and froze repeatedly. The last incident fried my harddrive so now I'm not playing anything.
Needless to say DC isn't going to be installed on the new drive when it arrives.

You guys are all dicks for blaming DC for fluffing your system.

Destroyer Command is a great addition to the DCE series.  I own Silent Hunter II AND Destroyer Command.

Both work fine with XP, and with ME (I upgraded recently).  Destroyer Command review on Gamestudmuffins was obviously biased.  If you look up the type of reviews the reviewer did before this one, not even the same genre.

Would you hire a studmuffingy french pastery chef to fix your Porsche? No.

If you like Naval/Action sims, DC is packed with lots to do.

Played today first times DC/SH2 interop.
Tried to go for 2 vs 2 matches.
Some CTD's, especially if I tried to host more than one other player besides me
and in one game two out of four dissapeared and one game lasted for an hour and one uboat was already well warmed up when host CTD.

Anyway, took long time to get anything happen, but nonetheless it was quite fun.
Especially after you've finally got the long awaited 'pong' :D

Have been able to finish one game online, 3 subs v 1 DC.   Destroyer got killed, I was still in the back of the pack.

other than that, everytime I've tried to play it has Disconnected.
From what I understand, they released that patch as a beta version.  Fine with me, its free play, although, u think guys are bad here for whining?  Sit in the lobby of SH2/DC during primetime.  SHEEESH!

When you can get a game rolling it is quite fun though.
