B26 and new jap bomber=speed!!!
« on: March 19, 2002, 10:47:45 PM »
Is it just me or does that new Ki jap bomber do almost 300 mph?, the B26 does almost egsactly the same speed even though its unloaded so whats the deal you ask? Well the B26 was designd to be a 300 mph bomber and the jap bomber is almost 5 years older than the B26 and does the same speed!!! this troubles me deeply, so to the designers, speed the B26 up or slow that japanese ronson lighter down. Its emberasing guys I was telling all my geek buddies about this game only to have this happen,,just kidding anyway somone help me to understand see you in the mad skies kids weeee:D

The K-67 will get to alt faster than any other buff save the Ar234. My only complaint with it is the gun positions are knocked out way to easily.

Why do you think the KI 67 is five years older?  According to http://www.warbirdsresourcesgroup.org,  the B 26 first flew in 1940 and was delivered in 1941, while the KI 67 first flew in 1943 and was delivered in spring 1944, so it's actually 3 years newer.

Er, the Ki-67 is not 5 years older than the B-26.

The Ki-67 is a 1944 bomber.  That is the year that it entered service, noth just the version in AH, but the type.

It has two 1,900hp Mitsubishi Ha-104 engines.  Of course its going to be fast.

Ssssshhhhhhhhh...... !

Don't anyone tell Staga that the Peggy has the Japanese 12.7mm HMG (which is a direct copy of the Browning .50) and HO-5 20mm cannon for defensive guns ;)

btw when I was giving it a test drive I had a 109 trying to catch me and pinging me with his guns. I lost both elevators ,one aileron, that 20mm on top and one gun of the twin mg's in tail. Wonder if it should lose both barrels when damaged?

What's the verdict, anyway?

Is the Ki-67 a viable weapons platform in 1.09? (I think so)

Seems to me 5-6 of these could cripple a field in a hurry and escape unscathed- and consider, multiple-bomber flights are coming.

Compared to the B-26, it doesn't have near the weapons load or offensive guns, but defensively it's just as strong, is faster, and far more manueverable. As stated, it climbs faster.

In short, I see it as a bomber that is pretty balanced against the B-26- good, but not invulnerable.

B26 VS meatball bomber

I have gotten my best scores in a B26, I once recieved 50 perks in the Marauder shooting down 2 spits 1 p38 and two 190's so there is always going to be a soft spot in my heart for this plane. plus as stated before the bomb load is a factor,... more bombs than the Mossie and faster than the B17. Its the intermediate ground pounder of choice lol. Plus if there are friendlys around its great for strafing guns off a field, my only problem with it is the seeming lack of pilots online that want to go on missions in the thing. Give me 4 B26,s and a small field will dissapear. climb rate is lesser but it takes more bombs just as high as a K.

In the end I guess the perfect replacment online for my purposes hasnt been invented yet, it would have to be as fast as a mossie with at least 3 1000 pound bombs internaly stored,...was there a plane in ww2 that fits this discription? if so GET IT IN THE GAME! till then B26 inbound aaaaah!
