Sound Suggestion for next Build
« on: March 19, 2002, 11:13:44 PM »
Would it be possible to factor prop (eng) sound in relation to airspeed?

Example: nose over into a dive and the faster you go the higher pitch the prop noise. Zoom up in a climb, and as your airspeed goes down the pitch of the prop noise drops.

This might give a better "seat of the pants" feel as to how your plane is doing in relation to TAS, and onset of departure or compression.

Thanx,

Constant Speed props don't do that.  All aircraft in AH, except the Hurri I and Spit I which have 3 setting props, have constant speed props.

That's what the wind sound is for, listen for it.  When it's starting to overpower the engine sound yer gonna compress.  Doesn't help much with departure though, guess that's why we have a stall horn sound :D

While technically correct, it could be considered a concession to gameplay/immersion.

It does not matter to me either way.  I very seldom live long enough to be able to notice :D.

Maybe I failed to express myself correctly. When refering to prop pitch, I meant the sound, not the angle of attack. :p
