I would find it a lot more useful if the joystick mapping etc. could be applied on a vehicle/plane basis rather than a global setting. I know it would be a pain initially havind to setup the sticks for each individual plane or tank etc. However I think it would be more flexible in the long run. I started thinking about this a while back when I was sick of using the joystick Y axis to control vehicle throttle and brake. I have a perfectly good CH Pro Thottle which I would prefer to control a tanks accelerator with. I could use one of the buttons as a brake. Wheat has reinforced this idea is a new controller I have got recently, a Logitech Wingman. This has it's own two joysticks, a view hat, analogue throttle and six buttons. It's crap for flying planes but great for tanks and other vehicles. I got this for WWIIONLINE and found it was superb for vehicles there. I did like the way they have a separate config for each ride there as well. I can use standard joystick for planes and the gamepad for vehicles. Even different axis and button allocations between bombers and fighters. So any chance?

There are four different stick sets; have you tried using a different stick set for each of your four most common rides?

I might be mistaken but I thought only one physical joystick coould be used. Can different sticks be setup for different stick sets and if so could I have one for say vehicles and one for aircraft?

You got it.

You assign axis and hats in the joystick set up, then you can define up to four different functions for all the buttons and hat switches. You can change which button set-up you use with either a keystroke or assign joystick buttons to each set.

All you have to do is remember which stroke set belongs to which vehicle.

I should have read your reply twice. RTFQ2.

I actually have a full USB CH setup (USB Fighterstick, pro throttle, pro peddals) and a MS Sidewinder attached to my machine. I can assign functions and axis to the Sidewinder, but I run out of hands, so it's unused in AH. I suppose I could use the buttons on it, but it's just as easy to hit a key if I have to take my hands off the CH stuff.

Hrm. Now I wonder if I could set up the sidewinder to be a pure vehicle stick...I can't use the pitch, roll, yaw, or throttle 1 axis for the Sidewinder, but there ought to be a way around that.

Thats sounds similar to what I am trying to do. One type of stick for vehicles and one for planes. Let me know how you get on :-)
