At the risk of actually addressing the topic of this thread (How often do I actually do that?)
BigCrate, Thanks for posting something usefull. I started flying 38's this tour in preperation for the Invasion Sicily Scenario, and while this plane will never be at the top of my list. However, during my flights in the 38, diving was the focus of MUCH of my learning (as anyone who is used to E-fighting or B&Z will undoubtedly understand). I find that skidding in the opening part of the dive can also help bleed some E off to avoid digging a hole to China. Give some hard rudder, then use ailerons to keep the nose pointed where you want it. As you approach the target (use you descretion here) let out the rudder and re-align the nose for whatever shot you're looking for. I try not to skid too much, since it can really bellybutton up your aim if you wait too long. Not to mention that it can really bleed you out of E if used in conjunction with dive breaks, throttle back, and pre-dive climbing.
