Views in film editor
« on: March 22, 2002, 07:36:37 AM »
I'm having trouble using the views in the film editor.

I try to use the HAT-1 on stick (which I use in flight as well for views) but it has no response in the film editor. I can only look around by using the sliders asside the window to change view.

In the old film viewer (integrated into AH) I was able to use HAT-1 to look around.

Does anybody know what's wrong?

Apar

Using the X36 HOTAS USB with CH Pro Pedals USB
HAT-1 (8 way HAT) + 4-way hat on throttle for all view directions.

also you have all of the padlock commands available allowing for some excellent panning shots. The only problem i have is doing it all real time.
Make one bad move with the camera and the avi is useless.

btw how do i add music to the avi? does it have to bbe done during compression or added later?

sorry im new to making avi's etc :D

best thing to do hazed is get one of the free editor theres links in the Film Viewer thread.

Apar I use pan (f8) but when you are coverting to avi it ez to keep up with the action however you need to hold your views abit longer do to the slow motion. Or else when you play the film at full speed you head movements will be super fast.

OK, Thx, the numpad is workable.

But still remains the question why do HAT views work in the standard viewer and not in the film editor viewer?
This is not intended as a whine, I merely think it is handy to use the HAT system because we're used to it by use in flight and it works more natural (easier) in film review.

Big Salute to HT on the film editor, it is really nice to be able to instantly switch from player to player.

the normal AH film viewer is part of the game. You are as much in the game as you would be in offline.

The Editor is a stand alone not part of the AH game.
