Verm,

Using the external AH film viewer (not the film button in AH) which gives you a digital readout of altitude and speed I watched your film.

The fastest recorded speed at the end of your filming was exactly 442MPH at exactly 19.7K.

Isn't this exactly right??

Squire, I think 2 Bf 109 K-14  delivered to Major Wilhelm Batz's Gruppenstab, II./JG 52, in April 1945 (bring to AH unperked  :D ).

After read Wings of the Luftwaffe of Captain Eric Brown(IMO great book), I have my own opinion about some post-war test: NO GOOD. See by expample test of Ta-152 H1.

F4UDOA, nope the G10 (K4 in sheeps clothing) should do 452mph according to everything I've seen and heard in the past from Pyro.

I hadn't used the new film viewer yet, I'm suprised my 442 mph estimate from the gauges was that accurate. :)

Checked my film with film viewer...449mph at 22500ft. I think we can close this case...the speed is pretty much right on the money. :)

I forgot totally about the new film viewer that gives you digital readouts of the air speeds.  I need to make a note to myself :).

Verm, 1.09 was released 3.14.2002. You posted this after the release. It's just that you did your test at lower altitude and I did it at the altitude where HTC's chart shows the top speed (about 22500ft). And my 449mph figure is from my original test (read up thread). Silly me just forgot th digital speed read out feature of the new film viewer then. :) It's always been as fast as it should be I bet. It's just that the speed gauge gives readings which are just a tad too low. Now that we have the new film viewer we can know for sure. WTG HTC!!! :)
