GeForce4 Ti4600

If anyones interested, I figured I'd comment on these cards as I've done a heck of allot of pulling my hair out over the last week or so trying to get information on these things.  Might save a few of ya from going through the same.

Right now, you can get Ti4600 cards from eVGA, PNY, Visiontek, Leadtek, Asus and Gainward. Creative is supposed to release one soon (that according to tomshardware has a hairdryer sounding fan attached lol)

Generally speaking, eVGA and PNY seem to be the cheapest followed closely by Visiontek.  These appear to be solid/stable performers but fall into the "stock" card category and all are under $400. PNY seems to have the worst reputation, not bad but... most folks recommend something else.  From what I know, it looks like Visiontek is probably the best you can get for the price with a certain amount of confidence included, only drawback is the "no-frills" package you get with it (no games, no glasses). Visiontek is also "Amurrican made" ifluff'n anyone is interested. I wish like hell I could find a review on the eVGA card, but I can't. I lumped that one into this "category" due to the very cheap price (of the model withOUT the special fan which tac's on as much as $60).  All these cards are also the only ones you could consider widely available (in-stock) at this time.

If you want what will be rated the "bestust" of the cards, look to Gainward, Leadtek, and Asus for  reputation, stability and speed. I'm talking hardcore-gotta be the fastest-type guyz here, otherwise the speed difference among all the cards (including those above) will probably be less than worth your worry. It looks like Asus is the choice if you want fastest AND rock solid stability while Gainward and Leadtek will be running neck'n neck for the best in overclocking, however I'll bet the bodacious dual-fan front and back heatsink on the Leadtek directly contributes to that. Gainward is probably the most effective overclocker and if you can get a better cooling solution to it it'll probably ROCKET!  With Asus and Gainward you get the 3D glasses, not sure about the Leadtek.

Tomshardware is the only place I could find a good review/comparison of a few reference boards.  I find that kinda wierd myself.  hardocp.com or maybe t-break.com is supposed to be releasing a review of the eVGA card very soon to if anyone is interested.

...Hey, my first review lol.  I feel so special.

Here is a review from Anandtech. It's quite good,as it benchmarks the TI4600,TI4400,the MX line, several different Geforce III's,and the Radeon 8500.

This review should give potential card buyers a good idea of what each card is capable of in both terms of performance and quality.
