Best drivers for Ge Force 4 TI-4000??
« on: March 23, 2002, 06:32:48 PM »
Greetings,
I have just installed a NVidia GeForce 4 TI-4000 card with 128M DDR.
I used the driver set provided on the install CD, version 4.13.01.2730.

I have done no tweaking... just default install of the card, after installing new MB, CPU, and memory.

The results in AH are very good. I have only tested for a short period of time and saw the following frame rates:
Crowded field, lots of smoke  30-40

 taking off: 40-50

 High level flight: 50-60

this test flight was taken this afternoon on AH.
 My system is:

WIN 98 SE
Intel P4 1.8 gig
Intel DM-850MV motherboard
512 meg PC-800 RD-Ram
Soundblaster Live

ADSL Internet: 1500 down, 384 up
Linksys 4 port DSL router

Any hints on system tweaking or alternative Nvidid drivers is welcome!
This is a wonderful system, an upgrade for me from a 16meg ATI All in WOnder.

Thanks!

With that system you should get much better FPS. Check also bios AGP aperture size if possible. Turn it to 128 or 256 mb.

Your fps is ok now and you dont need it higher but it can be higher...

I installed the 28.32 drivers, and then got a 3DMARK 2001 score of 8850. This card rocks!!

I agree -  You should be getting MUCH better FR's with that setup.  I'm running a P3 700 w/ a SB annhilator pro 32 mb card (geforce 1) and I get consistantly mid 40's over crowed smoking fields and upper 50's in hi alt flight.  I also have done no tweaking.  My AGP aperture is at 128.

wtg on the 8850 score :)

well the drivers that are shipped with the hardware usually sucks i always use refrence drivers for the ndvidia chips myselve too.

Another thing is there has not been a driver out before the 28.30 driver that really supported the new gforce 4 cards.
