Frame Rate Read-Out Question...
« on: March 24, 2002, 10:43:49 PM »
It seems like the read-out on the FPS counter reads high.
When my FPS counter drops to around 10, I can actually count the frames go by out-loud.
I counted out-loud at the about same rate as I was seeing the frames flip by and timed it with a stopwatch for 5 seconds.  At best, it seems like my frame-rate is about 4 when it reads around 10.  I know that I can't count out-loud to 10 in 1 second...
What am I not getting here?

THe frame rate counter seems to operate on a short term average.  So if your at 25 FPS and suddenly drops to 2-3 fps, it would still show 5-10 for a few seconds.

That make sense 2Late4U.

Although I have swirled my A6M around in smoke for several minutes while defending bases, I can not say for certain that my FPS has been a slide show the entire time...
