Knives, guns, fake bombs elude airport security

From CNN:

"In hundreds of undercover tests conducted between November and February, security screeners missed 70 percent of knives, 60 percent of simulated explosive devices, and 30 percent of guns. Overall, screeners failed 48 percent of the time."

.... and there's STILL very dang few Sky Marshals.

Have a nice flight!

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Yeah, I saw that on the news yesterday. Scary. What do you think can be done about it toad? (weren't you a commercial pilot?) Do you think security could be increased without hurting the volume of US air traffic?

The other side of the coin... At least they got 30%!!! That is probably almost 85% more than they got before!

I see this and am not really concerned given the ease a stinger can be smuggled nto the country to get the plane from OUTSIDE the airport much less than fighting to get past the security. Remember there are still Ryder trucks out there that can be rented far easier and used to great effect for the same purpose.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

very safe.

the only reason the hijacking thing worked before is because people usually survived hijackings before sep 11th.

that was the key - without that element they won't get far hijacking a gocart. everyone knows they'd better "roll" or get plowed into a hillside. if you pull a knfe on an airliner today 52 people will kick your bellybutton immediately.

sep 11th was a freak success for them - it seems a waste of time to be rescreeening 1000s of people every time someone f's up...they've got no more game and only barely had any then.
