Here there are some AH perfomances:

Spitfire IX:

Speed sea level: better than 109-G6
Speed max best altitude:   "   "
Climb rate:   "   "
acceleration sea level:   "  "
acceleration best altitude:  "  "
Best Roll Rate:  "  "  (all speeds)

Spitfire XIV:

Speed sea level: better than 109-G10-K4
Speed max best altitude:   "   "
Climb rate:   "   "
acceleration sea level:   "  "
acceleration best altitude:  "  "
Best Roll Rate:  "  "  (all speeds)

All 109G6-G10 perfomances arenŽt better  (neither climb-speed nor horizontal Speed) to Spits IX-XIV, so IŽll do mention of them :).

Ah, 109G10 is better than 109K4 (more light, more climb-ascent, better armamament and Horizontal speed). This is the reason why Germany developed this version, to lost the war :).

----------

See you

illo,

Spit XIV does 335 at MIL power, 360 at WEP power in AH.

Necro,

ALL Bf109s from the F on are faster at sea level than the Spitfire F.Mk IX.

The Bf109G-10 in AH is faster on the deck than the Spitfire Mk XIV, and has a WEP that lasts 3 times as long.

You probably accidentally had your gear down, 100% fuel and 2 bombs hanging under your wings. The only 109 to catch Spit XIV otd would be 109-G10 and the Spit outturns it by a barn wide margin.
