Best Kill

I dont get a lot of kills (only coz i suck) but...

egged a field in a B26, turned for 2nd pass and spotted a low B17 which seemed to be trying to nail some friendly gv's.
So I tipped over and angled down, tricky not rippin the wings off but managed to pull out right behind the buff.
Boy the mauraders front guns pack a punch!!

buff vs buff kills are always a buzz.

I have 2 average kils but for me they were fun.

1. A TBM vs TBM fight which I won at low alt and low speed. Some bastige came over the hill and shot me down about 2 mins later.

2. The other night I was climbing through 5k in a pony when i spotted a high spit. He dived down to engage and I was slow (obviously) so i turned and dived to grab some sort of E. I turned back to him about 60 seconds later but he flew right by me and on to my airfield which he prompty began to strafe. I pinged him once or twice(no visible damage) and he augered into the hillside. Got the kill and a good laugh. I'm still puzzled.

I don't shoot down that many, so every one is special!  Got a good one tonight, however.  Hovering over a furball at A53 on the NDIsles map.  Suddenly I spot a P47 below me, climbing up on the 6 of one of our F4Us.  The guy just drifts up in front of me, slowing, slowing--I got so close that when I unloaded the air was filled with flying pieces.

But the best "kill" for me, was not actually a kill, but instead, an incident that for me encapsulated the best of AH.  I was in a bomber group, somewhere over the Mindanao map.  Someone, I have a feeling it might have been Fester, had upped a 262 and was shredding everything in sight.  We were all sitting there watching his kill tally mount up.  Eventually he worked his way to us, and shot down my two B17 wingmen.  Then he disappeared.  I pressed on to the target, bombed it, and then the 262 showed up again.  He was boring in on me high, but for once in my life I got really good deflection and he pulled off with one engine smoking.  I'm guessing he managed to land to preserve the streak.  So I never got the kill, but the 262 was done for the day.

Killed him on the first shot out of a tank that I ever shot at a plane.  At first we thought we had a bug.

Hey HT, what kinda setup ya use?

I'm never steady enough to hit planes with a single shot from a ground gun.

when I killed a couple dozen planes  that just upped for a mission by dropping bombs on them from my b17.

Caught a luftweenie vulching a base today.  Killing a vulcher combined with killing an Fw190 combined with it being a really cool looking engagement makes it a fun one for me.

I even got Film.

I dropped a 500 pounder from around 1500 ft. with the good intentions of killing a PT boat.  Turns out it wiped out a Spit who was finishing a strafing run and was passing over the boat.  Sure would like to see film on that!
