Thankyou Busc for a great scenario today!!!
« on: May 28, 2000, 05:08:00 PM »
I know last week I came across as rather strong about the scenario starting late, but I want to say this weeks scenario ran much smoother.  Thankyou Busc for taking the time and effort to run these scenarios, you are an asset to the AH community. <SALUTE>

I also want to thank FunkedUp and the rest of the 308 RAF, you guys are the best I enjoy flying with you,  I promise to do better next time.

Great event tonight!  We enjoyed it very much, and our kill tally confirms it! Can't wait for the next scenario!

Yes, ran smoothly today. Fairly one sided though; heavy 190 going for ack low and outnumbered vs swarms of Spits.

Next time, YOU guys try the JABO *grin*

Things didn't run smoothly for the Axis; our escorts did engage the enemy, but the majority got through. Separation between escorts and jabos was quite large.

Kirin, the flight leader, had some kind of mechanical problem with his aircraft and went down just prior to attack. As a result, at the time I decided to drop my bomb, I only got four guys with me; the rest were scattered around. Then the Italians where outnumbered and soon remarkably enough I survived for quite some time, til a Spit (zigrat) I hadn't seen suddenly appeared in my 6 view, d300. Managed to get defensive but he shot my tail off, so down I went.

Next time will be different. busc says we get bombers, and then we won't have to worry about being outnumbered and fighting ack and being low in an aircraft that really really needs an alt advantage.

So yo Allierte schweinhunden; you won the battle, but WE shall win the war!

<S> Busc!!!  Good fun!

<S> Allies!!!  Good teamwork!

<S> Axis for putting up a good fight!!!

Hehehe Santa next time you won't be fighting 1941 planes with 1944 planes.

Anyways 190 is best on the deck, if you think you will have any luck up higher...

And we did Jabo in Spit V in Frame 2 you may recall:  http://www.raf303.org/308/libya2.htm

You should wait to check the scoring too, not many of those "swarms of Spits" were able to RTB.  We don't have the option to run after we hit, so instead of "hit & run" it's usually "hit & die"  LOL!!!

funked, 190 is a 1944's aircraft?

Maybe a8, I don't know.

But you GOTTA admit that when you are outnumbered AND bombing ack AND got higher spits in an aircraft that needs an *alt advantage*, not real altitude, you're in for a rough ride, no?

Yep, 190's were toast in Frame 5.  205's did well though, my squad had heavy losses from them.  I collided with one and got blown up (nice shot Naso) by another.

I think you must have been in a different part of the fight from me, too.  Everything I saw was equal altitude.  I think we did have some local numbers advantages at times, because we decided not to let any of the squadrons seperate very much.

PS It's good to hear that your griping (alt, numbers, planes) sounds a lot like the griping from my troops.

That means Busc did a good job!!!

PPS Most Spitfire pilots hunt Fw 190 like a deer with a big rack, so this makes it even harder for 190 drivers.  I got 3 of them BURRRRRRRRP.

My squad did fairly well overall in the scenario, although we gotta work on living more. Follow this link, scroll down the left bar for our scenario results and film.

BUSC did a great job considering the confusion.

Now, who's up for creating a scenario on a weekend night, say 8pm CST.

I hereby nominate funkedup in charge of the next Aces High Scenario.

Step up to the podium funked.

Heh, it's so funny to hear the other side's take on things. I thought *we* were the ones outnumbered and under alt   Goes to show ya it's all a matter of perspective - but a blast nonetheless. To add to Funk's post, including the last 1/2 of the second frame I got 9 kills and 3 assists, dying once. BUUUUUUURRRRRP!

<S> Busc!

When's the next one Funked? Huh? Let's hear the details! Come on!

Hblair, I am a lazy bastard.

Fortunately the other guys in Jokers Low are NOT.

So look forward to more fun in the desert soon!

But this time no HO-ing ramming chasing my chute on the ground bastiches will be allowed.

That was kind of funny though.

We had finished off the 190's in that area, and we had a report of more to the east, so I started off that way and noticed you buzzing off to the north by your lonesome.  I called for my wingie Falkowski (Red 5) and said "He's gonna have to turn back, just watch."  And sho nuf you came back.  Too bad I miscalculated my lead turn and ended up with a pure-pursuit turn hehehee!

Nash, yes I am amused to hear the gripes from the other side, because they sound just like all the gripes our guys were making LOL!!!  As I said before, it means Busc was doing a pretty good job.

I attempted to be smart, trying to fly away from the main force so that the spitfires would get dragged down and JABO would be safer... instead we were intercepted by P51s   Nice fireworks display as we jetisonned though   , and we got 11 kills between the 7 of us...

Thanks for the organisation Busc, now next time I want to be flying the Typh-er, Hurri IID
