Good for you Viper :)

Anyone know what countermeasure that is?
I have seen several shots of the B-1 launching and it certainly looks much more impressive than standard flares- especially the fact that it's self propelled to help confuse 3rd gen IR energy tracking missiles.

It's a B-1B (to be more specific ;) ).  Those are not JDAMs, rather they are 500lb high drag bombs.  The flare is just a flare, probably looks a lil' different due to glare.

The bombs are probably Mk.82 Retarded Bombs, with Ballutes deploying. The bombs are armed by the retard sensor of the FMU-139 Fuze system, which senses the deceleration of the bomb.

I'm just a crew chief, fix 'em and fuel 'em.... I was too mechanically inclined to be a weapons puke ;)  Now if you want to know how the landing gear retraction sequence works or where the circuit breaker for the left windshield heat is located just give me a ring :D
