Tribute to members who passed before their time
« on: March 30, 2002, 07:08:40 PM »
I wonder if HTC could “carve” the names of former members who passed before their time on the walls of the “tower”. Just something you could see if you look around the tower room with different views and maybe zoom in a bit, you would find the names carved in the walls.

Just a thought to honor AH members we lost over the last few years.

Airwarrior2 and AW3's bases were named after notable players.  I always thought that added a "personal" touch to the game.

Sounds like a cool idea to carve the names of the fallen into the tower wall.  What about on the bricks in the map room?

Very good idea.
If I remember right,  at the squadron ops office at Mountain Home they had a Pilot Roster/Status board near the ops desk.  Now days its pexiglass with grease pencil, but I have some pictures I took of a squadron board in RAF Little Rissington (closed flight line, inactive) about 1983, and the status boards were still up with pilots names and flight status with dates around 1968.

I think a chalk board like the field status board with their names, callsigns and the date they passed would be good.

Yeah, you’re right! But that’s life!
So, Let’s not honor our friends and squad mates who passed before their time?
I have no problem with your statement, I’m guessing you must be young. Lucky you!
Spend some time with me. 20 years as a Public Safety Officer. (Fire Rescue, Medic and Police Officer) You would soon find life is just a fragile moment in time.

Edit for spelling....again

Now that's morbid!

Ever visit the Vietnam Wall?
Ever visit a Civil War Battle field?

Honor and not forget.

Ya mean a guys gotta die to get a custom skin around here??

Look guys were all gonna pop sooner or later,  start doing stuff like that and God knows where it will stop.  Mebbe a better plan would be to hold scenarios/snapshots in honour of the fallen??

Still nice of you to think of these poor guys

Good idea Ozark

My bet is that HT will find some classy way of implimenting the idea without bothering anyone not interested. Right HT?
