Whine of the day!
« on: March 31, 2002, 04:01:12 PM »
Im whining now! Im really tired for gangbanging! I could say Im pissed of!

I have three choises. First, I can change country. Well which country? I hate now all countries! ok, I dont change.. Choise 2 would be quitting whole AH, I have considered it lately because it is not fun anymore because of being outnumbered and gangbanged most of the time. Well I wont do that yet...

Third choice is having a break. So far I think I'll do that. How long its going to be I dont know. Maybe 1 day or 1 week or 1 month. Anyway..  F**k you all and  bye!

whew... whining is nice...

Go Mikko go!

Do as I did: burn some perk points furballing with a 262. That relieves stress..

Now we just need someone from the other two countries to come here and complain that its THEM that are really getting gang-banged.

To be honest... you'll always get that impression fighting a two front war.

To be honest, Akdeja, the arena is really unbalanced all around the clock. Just countries change with timezones..

When the imbalance is bad and the two bigger countries pound the smaller one it breaks the nerves of the small country, regardless of which country is in question.

The nature of 90% of playerbase is to get easy kills, which leads to gangbanging, team hopping etc. There was a time when every evening when I logged on my team was fighting 2:3:1 odds with our team being the smallest.. That was really boring.

Now I've stoped playing more or less. Partly because of my job but mostly because the game wasn't fun anymore. You couldn't take off without facing ridiculous odds at each fight. We're talking about 5:1 ratios. And no, there weren't options because people in AH are not just flying around where there's no action which would make 1:1 duels in MA possible.

I know perfectly well where mip is getting his anger from, I've gone through it and now I quite frankly don't care anymore.

Part of the passion for this game died with the dweeby playerbase who jump to the side with numbers. It's a reality and I've learned to live with it.

Mipoikel, know exactly how you feel. Luckly for me I get to fly in the MA at all hours, given my location in the world and the fact that I do shift work.

Though I've only been around in AH for about 6 months and in no way consider myself any sort of expert on AH. It is my humble opinion that the MA is more enjoyable late evening EST through to I think around late morning EST. When the numbers online range from as low as 50 through to 250 which suits the current maps very well given their size and layout.

As during peak times (400+) I also find it very frustrating to come out on top of a good fight only to then get ganged by a large group of people who you know wouldn't have a chance in any other situation.

So other then moving to another part of the world where the timezone is more in your favour all we can do is wait for HT to release some updated and bigger maps.

..and when finally you meet nme 1vs1 of course it's LA-7 which starts run to home and finally gets back its courage and skillz after 5 his friends comes to help him, then he chases you down. Sure there is exceptions too, but lately I've had bad luck and ran only these ones. Then they whine that I HO'd them, LOL! I've already decided to HO every NIK2 I may face and now I've put LA-7s to same category. LA-7s are using their best weapon; speed, I'm using P-47s best weapon; weapons :)

Wow, you're right Mikko, whining is reliefing!
But back to the topic, atleast at the european flying times, Rooks are always outnumbered. But what can you do..

Ota mikko iisisti ja lentele vaikka pommareita vähän aikaa 45kft korkeudessa. Kyllä se siitä. :)

How about this idea gang?

Idea To Reduce Gangbanging?

Even if it has no effect on players switching countries, it does give those of us who typically fly for Rooks a reason to continue flying :)

Dingy, I agreed with that way back, and I STILL think it is the best solution.

We need to balance the natural tendancy to gang-bang with some motivation to do otherwise.  I think that's the best solution.

Last night when I was on Rooks were being totally over-run.  It was roughly 150-140-90, and we were just getting REAMED on both fronts.  I couldn't even count the dots headed to the field I was fighting near.  I grazed on the furball as best I could, but there was always 4 or 5 new guys popping in at 20k.  Eventually a N1k snuck up on me and nailed me.  I wouldn't have felt so bad if I was at least getting compensated. :)  In addition, it would give the other guys a reason to spread out along the front a bit and even things up.

>>We need to balance the natural tendancy to gang-bang with some motivation to do otherwise. <<

Lephturn:

I don't think it s natural tendency at all. I think it has more to do with the type of pilits who may be flying at a given time.
This explains for me the tendency of even fellow countrymen who engage in the conga line as you bear down on an nme you worked to bleed E, only to look back as you notice tracers flying past you from behind.
It is not smart or efficient to engage in the Conga line but so many do it. So, for me, I view the phenomenon as Typical of certain types of pilits in the arena on any side. There are those who are new FNGs who don't know any better; there are those who 'think' they are aces but aren't; there are those who simply don't care and aren't team players at all, and don't care to be (this latter group would makeup the country jumpers who switch to whichever side is winning or has the most numbers).
IMO, of the groups I mentioned above, the FNGs stand the most chance of actually improving and eventually being better pilits. In this group lies the hope of a better type of pilit in AH; the others I'm afraid there is no hope for, and will always be the way they are.
