Now that I have your attention ...

I flew a P-47D-11 today (first time flying a Jug, wanted to try something dofferent).  What is the difference between the three P-47 models (in layman's terms please)?

I seem to have the best luck in the Jug30, I believe its the
most modern of the variants.  It kicks but at 25k buff cover,
8 .50's can cure any poor marksmanship and 1700rnds per
4 guns, jeez.  ive kilt 190's at 1.0k by pure spray and pray.

Thanks for the link!  All I can see is that it looks like a preference thing.  I just get fascinated by the different ENY values;  I lthink I might fly the D-11 just because nobody else does!

Nobody flies it??  I know about 20 guys who fly that plane pretty consistently. ;)

I fly all three Jugs.  The D-30 has a bit more powerful WEP, but otherwise is identical to the D-25.  The D-11 is a bit lighter, with a different prop (non-paddle blade) and so it's not as fast but turns a bit better.

I use all three depending on the situation.  I've started flying the D25 lately, because that's the least-used version.  Lots of folks fly the D30 for ground attack because of it's amazing ordinance load capability.

the D-25 is my favorite ride. I havn't found any difference betwin D25 and D30 in terms of flight char. (even the wep difference is minor). maybe, only maybe, they controlls of the D25 handle a bit more sluggish than the D30.
beware of the bazooka rockets, they slow you down.

the D11 handles better then the other two, exept for the stall which seems a bit more violent (and shouldn't be I think). the real problem with it is the horrible front visibility, I just can't lag turn with it without having the bandit dissapear behind that two squares frames in my face.
Also note that the D11 has smaller fuel tank, hense shorter legs.
ENY value was changed to 40 so you can earn some perks in it now.

Bozon
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

I prefer the D-11 over the other jugs. Just because it can turn a bit better and dives just as good. Personally, if the jug30 is a little bit faster, who cares? A jug is either going very fast or going very slow.

Any 262 pilot wannabe should fly the D30, I find the tactics used in that plane to be the almost identical to those used in a 262.

Yep, the 262 is pretty much an uber-Jug but with crappy LW guns.  I can't hit a bloody thing with those quad 30's, especially with the closure speed you normally have in that beast.

S!

Not much differences but table shows that D-11 is actually the fastest jug in game.
Tests were done after 1.08 patch 6 were D-30 WEP was corrected.
25% fuel
fuelburnmult 0.0
wind 0

Makofan, excellent choice! Stick with D-11, it's uber :)
I am not so choosy with planes, I fly all green jugs except D-25. Low speed handling in D-11 is superb, even with wep. You can do funny things at low speeds after little training, nothing is more fun than flying at the deck (100ft) and watch hungry spit coming in to your six. At distance 600 or so start violent rolling scissors with full flaps and watch that spit crash!! People tends to go "greedy mode on" after they see low jug, remember this, you can use it as a weapon! D-11 has very good "secret" weapon; it's ability to make hammerheads. If you're looping long enough and figure out that not enough speed for another loop, no problem, you can change it to hammerhead/wingover -kind of combination in any time. That'll surprise your bogey =) Practise lots of vertical thingies, jugs are real E fighters, but do not hesitate to take it down and dirty too, it actually can do some furballing. Just remember to not to start turn with anyone, not even B-17; it'll out turn you. You may start turning with full flaps and think that wow, this can turn, but look at the nme, he's flying eights around you and laughing his prettythang off!! Been there =)

Good luck!

Glad to help Makofan :)

I forgot one really important thing (I may have to kill you after telling this :p ):
if you enable "low & dirty" -mode, be sure to take only 8x267 rpg ammo and as little fuel as possible! Some ppl even prefer only 6 guns, but I don't like it that way; it's like a shark without teeths... D-11 with 267rpg rolls much better and overall vertical handling is better and you still have loads of ammo.

Makofan, Sancho, Whitehawk, Lephturn, bozon, Tac, Monk and me for starters

This thread is about Makofan asking the differences between the jugs, he's not asking for new planes nor anything like.

You should go elsewhere to make your girlish revenge posts.

Bad move from you staga...
