Reduced Lethality in Training Arena

Man what a blast!

Last night during an all too common MA shutdown, I skeedoodled into the TA to do some quick fragging before days end.

In the startup message HTC said the TA had reduced lethality.  Now let me tell you, ever since I first played AH Ive been of the opinion that lethality was/is set to high.  Dweebishly high.  But I digress, I had three fights in the TA last night and they were some of the best scraps Ive had in ages, all happened in the space of about 20 minutes but it reminded me of some of those long drawn out fights I used to have in WBs.  You know, the kind where you single a bad guy out and attack going round, up-down, over and under for minutes on end, slowly losing flaps, fuels, guns  all the while your ammo load is diminishing.  Usually in AH, you get a ping or two and WHAMMO!  lights out.

I wish the MA had these lethality settings but Im sure the  gameboyee dweeblets with shaved irritated apples would stomp off and piss all over themselves....hehe

I second that! One of the things I like the most about IL-2 is the long fights and putting zillions of bullets on a plane only to watch it go away.

Yeager, I have to agree, it really does make it fun.  I noticed that in the BOB too.  12mm versus 303s really makes for a long and fun fight.  It is not impossible to kill your oponent either.  AWC (spit 9) and I (hurri 1) were fighting for an hour or so last week, and I could take a wing off of him with my hurri, even in the reduced damage.  I dont think it would favor the cannon planes any more than it does now.  Maybe it reduces the impact of the laserrangefinder and the icons....

Agreed. I love it.

I was pinging a jug with the 38's 50 cals and DAMN that thing just DIDNT go down. Even when I shot his wing with about 100 rnds lol.

In the MA a small 10 round 50 cal shot wouldve ripped its wing apart ;)

agree to an extent.

BoB in CT was a blast in the way that spectacular, prolonged fights existed since both sides were largely dependant on rifle calibur guns( :) The MGFF on E-4s run out realllllll quick).

The Machine gun lethality seems to be fine in MA.. maybe we can tone down a bit on the 20mms?

I like the lethality the way it is in the MA--planes with lots of 20mm's do a lot of damage, planes with .303's don't.   The best defense against guns is to not get hit  :)

oh come now gents... let's be constant here...

we want realism or no?  Mess with lethality as it is suggested here will say that .303 will be meaningless in the MA.

Next we will probably be hearing people say "Ammo duration is too short in the MA!  Bring the Ammo load from the TA!"
