I assume you use winzip.. You say it doesn't read ZIP but only zip?
I d/l'd this and it opened for me.
Are there any different settings that you use besides default?
I download DEMs sometimes to make maps and had to uncheck TAR file smart CR/LF conversion
You find that in options/configurations/miscellaneous
