Staga- I-153 was not pre- but rather POST I-16. Thats right- it was developed after the I-16's performance in the Spanish Civil war.

And it wouldn't be THAT interesting in AH, and widely hated to boot. The only thing it could do well in our MA would be HO anything that came after it.

Not so sure about it being more used than the LaGG-3 though, the LaGG-3 (and subvarients) and the Yak-1 replaced it in almost every front line unit by the winter of '43. Even by summer only a very few IAP's had not gone to the LaGG or Yak factories to fly home thier new rides.

It would be interesting to see Bi planes added, and have them used to boot, imagine CR 42's Gloster Gladators....:)

I wonder how the open cockpit would work in the I 16 (and others) would their be a special sound file for the extra loud aspect it would provide?

WW2 biplanes:

GLADIATOR
I-153
FAIREY SWORDFISH
AVIA B534(Czech!)
PZL P-11(polish) (mono but looks like biplane :))
HENSCHEL He 123A
HENSCHEL Hs 126B-1 of 3.(H)/21(recon)
ARADO Ar 67 or 68 or 197
FIAT CR 32 or 42 Falco
Meridionali Ro.37bis
Mitsubishi F1M2

all used mostly for recon but all would be really unusual and probably a lot of fun :)

BRING EM ON :)

323 MPH at sea level?    That's not too bad at all.     And, under 5 minutes to 16,000 means it climbs decently, at least at low levels.  Seems like it'd probably see a fair bit of MA usage, at least as much as the Zeke does.
