Same here with the rope.

Many, many, MANY, times I have had someone roped nicely to see a county mate dot him like an I before I can get over the top.

The only time I get upset over someone else getting a kill is when they’ve come over my shoulder to do it.  Most of the time causing me to killshooter.  That truly sucks.

The only time I give a rip about somebody killing "my guy" is if I knock off his wing and some joker shoots him up on his way down. Other than that I just don't keeer.

Happens to me all the time.  Pisses me off too.  I love the folks that assume you need help when you are sitting 150 yards off the enemy planes tail.  They come diving in with their N1K or La7 and shoot him up.  I usually tell em "Gee, thanks for the help.  I guess he could have gotten away".  Some dumbshits actually are like " Oh, no problem, any time".  Switched to the Rooks, it happens over there too.  Guess most of the guys on all the teams really suck and have to have the kills handed to them like that, and here I was thinking it was just the Knights.

The way the graphic engine works here, better to pull the trigger until the con explodes; with that in mind, anyone that wants to shoot something I've shot is perfectly welcome to it. Anyone that catches a good shot at something I've worked for, take it. All I ask is don't jump right in front of me to do it.

DejaVu, I could see where I'd take that guy from you if I was in a postition to do so. After all, there's no way I can tell in a heartbeat what your energy state is. All I can see is there is a guy hanging off your butt. If he's hanging there and he's red, he's a target. Better to go that way than to let him kill you.

Rude-

Sorry, tangled with the 13th in just those circumstances- no way you'd hang off if I got the upper hand. You'd maybe stand off until things went sour for your guy, then it'd be 2 vs. 1 real quick. Seriously, all I can remember is all those 51's taking turns making passes, each trying for his piece. Nothing wrong with that, but telling it like it really is from my POV. ;)

I am always astounded to find that guys can still log into the MA with 450 other armed combatants in it, run around about a third of em while lookin to pick a fight, and then get all huffy when they discover they are not alone.

OK, I want to vent too,
Tonight, I am buzzing around shooting up tanks and Osties (at roughly the same rate they are shooting me up), haveing a good old time alternateing between the Yak 9T and the IL2. What fun... There are quite a few of us, everyone seems to be in a right hand pattern, it was all very nice. So I roll in on a second pass on this Osty when (name intentionally left blank) starts telling me not to shoot the Osty, its his kill. So anyways I let loose with a volley of 30mm and blow up the osty. I reply on AHV "Say again?" I mean gee whizz, it was my second pass, I had put rounds into it already.
OK whiney vent over.

Well best way to deal with this is to get yourself a wingman and ten you can alternate on the ropedope and stalling sucker picking bussiness :D Works just excellent for me and Orel... And sometimes we can catch even a big fish like that, can't we Mandoble? :D

Mandoble: was not yesterday, it was few days ago when Orel was in and we were winging in Tepsests. You was 190 thats right... :)  You also made comment on ammount of used lead for the kill on ch. 1 followed by my reply that I have to compensate for my lack of skill witch ammount of lead ;) Unfortunately Orel is still less and less online so I have to die alone nowdays...

A kills a kill, if the plane is not going down Im going to help it on its way.

It's actually kinda funny sometimes...  I was grabbing out of a base in my 110g2 the other day with 2x500kg bombs.  There was a fight between a friendly and an enemy spit.  I watched the fight as I motored towards them.  It went on for a good 2 minutes, it was a damn good fight and It could go either way.

I was still lumbering along, about 170mph,  I kept my heading pointed at the fight as it continually lost elevation.  As I neared I could see the flow,   I tracked the movements of the friendly and as I motored through the fight, I made a very slight course adjustment to put my guns in line with where the friendly just went by me.  Sure enough, here comes the spit on the same line and a single squirt cumpled him like a can, then I just kept grabbing on my heading.

It was so casual it was almost ubsurd given the complexity and duration of the fight before my arrival.

The friendly didnt have nice things to say, but war is hell.

Last evening, I was working a GV spawn point with a Typhoon. Along with me were MiG and Booky. We killed at least 25 GVs (I killed one guy no less than 9 times). Our goal was to protect A6. Therefore, there was no competition for kills. If one guy was in a better position for a bomb, rocket or strafing run, the others told him to take the lead. Sometimes you got the kill, other times an assist. Sometimes the results were clearly skewed. MiG puts two 500 pounders right on a Panzer. Nothing. I make a single pass with my Hizookas, the Panzer explodes. I got the kill! Huh? Well, it worked both ways. We were interrupted twice by enemy fighters. MiG and I each received 1 kill and 1 assist where one guy would damage the enemy, and the second finish him. Again, no complaints, teamwork is expected to return these results.

Later, I went to A2 where another horde of GVs were pressing the field. Once again, working as a team, several of us shared in many kills. When one guy had expended his ord, he would spot for the others. I even managed to get a few enemy fighters in the process. Twice, I tried to mark M16s with tracers so that the others could spot them. I rolled in, lined up and gave a short squirt.

Widewing: "Er, guys. I think I marked him too much."

Deacon: "Yeah, so we saw. What the hell are you flying, airborne artillery?"

Widewing: "Just a Tiffy with those mighty Hizookas."

Unknown Rook: "Geez, I gotta go get me one of them!"

This happened both times, so I suppose I marked their graves...

Off topic for a minute.

Last evening I manned a 5" turret on the Rook CV off of A6. During that time, I shot down 21 Bish. That's right, 21. One or two may have been proximity tallys, but the vast majority were clean kills. Am I some kind of super marksman with the 5" gun? No, I'm not. However, the Bish made it very easy by attacking one or two at a time, instead of a mass attack that could overpower the defense. That CV stayed right off of A6 for hours, and was never sunk. Eventually, we captured the field, and rolled back the Bishops much further north. Poor teamwork on the part of the Bish at A6.

My regards,

Widewing

Wow fester, I’ve seen you complain more than anyone else online about someone stealing your kill and your response is “war is hell”.

Of course what looks like a textbook rope-a-dope to the roper may appear as a textbook drag 'n bag to the bagger. :)

The only pet peeve I have in regards to teammates and kills is when a bunch of teammates join in on a fight. It's not so much the "loss" of the kill that bugs me (although you can't really lose something that you never had, and you don't have a kill until it shows up on the text buffer), but rather the impracticality of having more than one or two additional countrymates all committing to a single enemy. From a tactical standpoint it's just not the smart thing to do.
Otherwise, having a teammate or two jump in to finish things off is not going to bother me. If I wanted to compete against my own teammates, I'd join the other team. ;)
