Sheeit! Don't know what ya'll beeatchin' 'bout.

Try wingin' with HBlair and his 30mm Tater gun packin' 109G10.

Don't matter how much ya ping the target if HB's gits one round to hit, he'll git the kill.

I hate Tater guns, lessin' I'm the one usin' 'em

And lemme tell ya, I'm a pretty good vulcher, but when my squaddies are with me and we's vulchin' a field a fella's got ta be pretty damn quick at gettin' the shot off else all ya's end up with is little bitty pieces of the baddie.

Same thing goes thru my mind everytime we vulch a field;

Easy-

If your wingman is even co-alt with a single con, whether or not other bad guys are coming, you'll jump in and help. You are not going to stand off and wait to see if your bud dies. I've fought against the 13th alone, I know how it works. ;)

I am not trying to insult you, but you are not worth your salt as a wingman if you stand around and let your bud die. And, in my experience, I've never had a 13th pilot stand around long enough for me to find out. It's *twist* (avoid the onrushing 51), *twist* (avoid the second one), *swish* (the third one got ya).

DejaVu, I could see where I'd take that guy from you if I was in a postition to do so. After all, there's no way I can tell in a heartbeat what your energy state is. All I can see is there is a guy hanging off your butt. If he's hanging there and he's red, he's a target. Better to go that way than to let him kill you.
Ah... I've never complained about someone stealing this kill before... and I never will.  Its just a simple example where someone can set a con up for someone else to get an easy kill on... and there really shouldn't be any attempt at placing blame on anyone. I just find the idea of someone comlaining about that con being shot to be quite funny.

I'll kill any con that's flying.  I'm not a big proponent of "dueling" in the MA... that's what the DA is for.

So one day I just finished splashing a detestable bishrook in a low level duel, as I roll out to look for the next victim a Spit drops right into the pipper a mere 300 ft away.....so being the killer I am I splashed him.  That earned me a "FCKN AHOLE" on the country channel, because as it turns out; a friendly P51 was diving in on him.

It's a fight, the goal is to kill the enemy.....and frankly i don't care who does it.  I don't set out to cut off a friendly and bag thier bogie.  I set out to kill bad guys.  Occasionally I might blast a con that a friendly might be drawing a bead on, it happens.....it's happened to me....and I couldn't care less.

So lighten up, play with the team, and try to have a good time...

The time I am more prone to get on the country channel and comment on someone's decision to shoot a con in front of me is if it is someone that decides it is smart to make an HO pass on a plane that has a friendly right behind it.  I usually avoid the k/s incident and usually end up watching the con in front of me and the friendly fall smoking towards the earth.

I'm not complaining because a kill was stolen... It simply amazes me that someone would push such a low % shot as an HO with a friendly right behind the plane.

The wierd thing is... I see this all the time.

I’m not talking about him getting ‘kilt.

I’m talking about his perception in the past of his kills being stolen.  That is what I was referring to.

On the 6 of an IL2 as he is in a fight with errmm one of you knits who has posted above.  I am maneuvering to get the shot, I am wthin 300 yrds when the IL2 and the other knit go HO...  as I opened fire of course....

Think at least 2 of us went down... me for the KS as the friendly(110) went 'thru' the IL2 into my guns...

I wanted to vent... but held it...

Sounds pretty same to me like if Im winging with Orel... With only 1 exception - with Orel there is no matter what plane he is in... He always lands his 20 kills and I have my 15 assists and 4 kills

The only way to steal a kill is if the guy is allready dead, that means lost a wing, tail or any other vital surface. If he loses half a wing and then you kill him, it's a steal unless he has mannaged to get away from his first persuer.

To get in and get a kill the way you describe, is not a steal, totally legitimate and it's the first guy who gets a shot that wins.
