btw you have to try BINK player mate. Its superb quality. ive ben getting real lenthy films down to 7 MB from a uncompress AVI of 1.5GB!!!! and its pretty clear.

I downloaded Bink after seeing one of your earlier posts. Do you have the lastest ver of DivX? I used DivX v5.0 codec for encoding that film.
Check here if you aren't sure.
Did you download the file or use streaming media?

I've got Realproducer, Camtasia, VideoMach, Fast Movie Producer, Bink, Ulead Video Studio VirtualDub, and Dubit all installed on my HD, I kinda like the DivX codec right now because of the small size vs. fair quality.

I took that 3 meg film I had posted ran it thru Realproducer and knocked it down to 1.4 meg, but the quality was only so-so. I then increased the bandwidth in Realproducer ran it thru again to get the same quality as DivX, but I ended up with a 5.5 meg file.

I've played around alot with codecs, seems DivX is best for making files that you want to end up as .AVI types, but the codec needs more circulation to the masses.

Realplayer is much wider known, but unless you're willing to pay for RealProducerPro, you're limited on how much ya can manipulate the output file.

I've also taken to compressing the audio section of the files down to 11025hz 8bit Mono, ya'd be surprised how this helps reduce file size, with only a moderate hit to sound quality.

I like Camtasia for it's watermarking effect, I like VideoMach for it interface and tools and I like Fast Movie Producer for it's simple speed.

Ulead came with the vid card I'm using and tho I've tried it a few times, I didn't really care all that much for it.
