I would not be at all surprised if the A-20 doesn't show up in 1.10 as well.

The trouble, Hangtime, is that argument can be used against every early war plane you can name. HTC has stated they would look backward at some point in time, it appears now is the time. The A20 was an important bomber throughout the conflict. How could it not be included?

Of course you know there will be variants, including the hard-nosed version.

Of course you know it opens the door to more scenarios. I know you like those.

Yes, it is vulnerable. What a refreshing change! Every time some uber late-war plane gets added, the cries from the "perk-it!" crowd are nearly unbearable. No cries necessary this time.

Agreed, Kieran.. you are 100% correct. It'll be a great scenario, CT and TOD bird, but pretty much bait in the MA. I guess that's the point I was tryin to make.

I do like seeing the early war plane set being filled in.. would love to see the Val and P40 to name a very few, and the Boston will see a role in any historical matchups.

I'm guessing we'll only get the one variant on release in 1.10.. Boston III w/ .303's, and thats it. No Invader, no A20, no 20mm equipped hard nosed low level killer of cockroaches.. in other words, a useless airframe for anything in AH other than scenarios or historical matchups. And therin lies the rub with me.. the much looked for variants of a bunch of existing airframes a lot of us would like to see have simply failed to materilize...

where's the norden equipped mossie? the mustang I and III? the early zekes? the early P38's??

I recall there being some coding limitation as to the total numbers allowed in the plane set, I suppose that has a big effect on what gets consideration. Over all, I suppose there's nothin to complain about, the allies have their fair share of hardware to play with, and the axis has all their variants...

...and *sniff* I suppose my griping on 'variants' continues because I mourn over the fediddleed up p51b we got, and the GOOD variants we didn't get. *sigh* oh, keeerist, did we ever get porked on that deal.... a B model that's good at 25k and sucks progessively more wazoo the lower it gets. I'd be happier if they simply withdrew the damn thing and gave us a Mustang III to replace it. ;)

But thats just my sour grapes.. don't let me bleed on yah. :D

I guess the only relief I can offer is we don't know what other planes will get in next. If we can extrapolate out 3-5 planes (including variants) from past releases, there's bound to be some surprises yet.
