Tour 18 Pastey Skin Awards...
« on: August 01, 2001, 04:23:00 PM »
I only spent about 5 or 10 minutes looking, so this is just a guess...

Fester - with 178 hours online in the main arena.

If you know of someone with more hours, please add to this post.

Otherwise, post your squad's Pastey Skin Award winner.

The Pastey Skin Award winner for the Buccaneers is...

BeeJay! - 160 hours online!  And he's a newbie!  He just started a little over a month ago.  Think he'll stay?

WTG Beejay!  I remember when I was a newbie in WB.  I spent more on WB than rent one month!   :)

Eskimo can you do career totals?  Who is the King?  Mitsu or Festerabria?   :)

Man...

I really can't imagine spending that kind of time playing any computer game -- and it's summertime! That's a typical working month for most people. That's spending as much time playing AH each month as many of us spend sleeping. It's like watching 80 or 90 two-hour movies, or playing for a solid week, 24-hrs./day without stop. Nothing personal, but for your own sakes get a life

What is this "work" you speak of?
Must all people from your planet work?

 :)

Since I telecommute eskimo, I'm hardly qualified to comment on the subject     :) You'll notice I wrote "... most people" when noting the hours worked and was similarly vague where the sleep figure was concerned   :)

FunkedUp

I started AW in the DOS days when Delphi had the 20/20 plan ($20 for 20 hrs., then $2/hr. after that). I remember one guy FunkedUp, who had to stop after maxing the credit cards. I managed to limit myself to about 30 hrs./month with a few exceptions. If AH was by the hour, these guys would do better financially having a cocaine habit      :)

With ya Charon.  Funny thing, I had a conversation with Pyro not long ago about them DOS days on AW and those dang bills.  Can't believe I paid that much!  I was there when it was Genie and not Delphi!

Woowee- 386 33mhz, 2400 baud, wireframe objects that sort of resembled different planes with very limited color. LOL!  But it sure was fun!

Yeah, they sure were. I had an asskickin' AMD 386 40mhz -- and remember how much RAM cost! At that time, I tried to stay between 18 and 24 months behind the cutting edge as a good $/performance point. Not anymore  :)

I can remember the early weekend morning AW duels with perhaps 6 people in the FR arena, chatting as much as fighting, and no vulching when numbers were skewed (didn't want anybody to get peeved and leave). We'll give you wheels up, and we'll attack one at a time. AH is the closest I've seen (though I didn't play WB) to that community since AW went AOL/Win95. If only a select few would stop whining in the MA about things that aren't really that important (and guess what, had virtually nothing to do with your getting shot down), all would be good with the world.

LOL!!! Boy, are we showing our age.  I wonder whatever happened to the likes of Killer, Twist, Drum, etc?

Sorry eski, didn't mean to hijack your thread. I'm not in a squad yet so I don't have anyone to nominate.  I'll be quiet now.

178 hours online?!

I only managed 14 hours last tour.

Can I have an award for the best sun-tan (with a handicap for living in the UK)?  :D

dtango, one of those, I seem to remember, was the credit card person, but I won't "slander" him by name   :)

To dehijack the thread myself, I spent about 30 hrs  this month, which generated more than a little grief on the homefront. Fortunately my fiancee is in to her VHS soaps during the evening, which gives me a free 1.5 hours to play.

DTango,

Drum is in the BKs and does in fact fly in AH.
