Nights?
« on: March 25, 2000, 03:14:00 PM »
Hi all,

I heard that day/nights were implemented in AH on the alpha stage, but then players asked to remove it. I understand, why they asked for it, but still night air war was an important aspect of the European air warfare. I do not think it shall be implemented in the Main Arena: it may be very borring to look after the single fighter for the few hours just to lose it after the first run. But for scenarios it can be important, esp. for strategic bombing, where night buffs raid was quite a big part of allied assault.

Just interested to know what you all think about it.

I like the idea...night bombing, night fighters... allied stragglers going after German's fighters...

hello guys
was in the ma the other day and the sun was
setting which made the ground darker than usual. was all over this spit at ground level. then i made one to many passes and he just disappeared into no where. i called over the buff cause i didn't see a kill on him.
He wrote back and asked why i disenguaged him.
more or less what i came down to was i lost him in the dark. NOW THAT IS COOL.

...and then.. all you had to do was find your base in blackout conditions and land.

No problem.

As long as we have those big spotlights that were pointed at the sky looking for Buffs...

Why couldn't they implement a night sky ala Janes WW2F with a `bright moon?' That would be very cool and it would make lowlevel attack missions more fun..if you don't splat on the way to the target of course   !

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.
