A friend of mine just recently gave me his old computer. It has an AMD K62 450 in it, Win98, etc.....he got tired of it and went and bought him another computer, two of them actually. He said it kept messing up on him so he was through with it.
I tried to boot it up, all it will do is beep every one or two seconds. Nothing else, just beep repeatedly.
I took out the HD to see what it had in it, it is a Fujitsu MPD3084AT, not sure what size or anything, but it was made in 1999, so I am sure it is the old 5400 rpm style.
I took out the mobo/CPU, put in an old mobo/CPU I had retired just to see if the inability to boot up was from the CPU. Even worse, now all I hear is the case and CPU fans running.
Someone who is in tune with computers care to point me in the right direction on what might be wrong with this thing?
I was hoping to just get it up and running so I can let the wife and kids have it and maybe they will leave my system alone so I can fly!
