Perk Boat....?
« on: April 10, 2002, 07:01:18 PM »
The big problem I see with a perk vehical is the ease with which they could be killed, who is goinng to want to pay for a King Tiger when anybody can come along and kill you by droping one bomb on you.

Why not have a Perk ships, Like say a Patroll Craft of some kind, there are tons that could be modeled. It could have a few 4 or 5 inch guns, a couple 20mm and even a 40mm AA mount, be some what hard to sink, like say 5 K worth of bombs and Cost like 20 or so perks?

ps) biggest problem with perks for vehicles/boats is... how can you return safely once you have spawned away from your home base.... any ideas?

Make it where you dont have to return to base to exit perk ships.  Perhaps a shallow water/deep water border would decide whether the ship would be ditched or landed safely.  Simply drive you ship out into the deep water and you can land safely.

Type XXI "electro-boat". But first give us a Type VIIC and some type of American WW2 Sub (and maybe a Japanese boat), And oh yes, a American Destroyer.

ACHTUNG!!! WASSERBOMBEN!!!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I don't think u-boats are good ideas because underwater ocean is not modeled in AH, it's a waste of time.

I like this idea. It has the possibilty of helping to spread out the battle over more of the map. One thing though, have the kills gained while in a gunner position have some sort of value, maybe .25 perk points or so. As it is now, there would be absolutly no gain for a player for killing in  gunner positions other than having their name in the text buffer.

Biocon, HiTech announced in an interview at the Con last year that he will be adding submarines in the not too distanc future.  So if I had to guess, player-controlled ASW platforms will go hand in hand with the subs.

What Sabre said, they will most likely come, and Water shouldn't be very transparent, you don't see much bellow the surface (only some meters if the water is clear).
