Which would you rather have?
« on: April 14, 2002, 10:45:12 PM »
He-111H
Me-410
Do-17Z
Ju-87D
Ju-87G
Hs-129
He-177

I beleive these a/c are the only planes really missing from Luftwaffe Planeset. Besides all the little secret things and mini jets (163 and 162)

Answer these

1)Which one is needed most in planeset?
2)Which one would be most useful in MA?
3)Which one would fill biggest gap in Luftwaffe planeset?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He177.

It would give the Luftweenies a little more "oomph: and speed for their bombing, and the Ju88 can be the early planeset buff.

Whats really missing from all the plane sets are the ww2 biwingers, there are no ww2 biwingers in AH!

That would really add to the plane set.

But out of the ones you listed I think I'd go with the HE177 also.

Me410 would be great for the MA
He177 would give the LW a real Buff
Ju87 would be fun and be useful in CT/scenarios

The easy way out of this for HTC would probably be to add a later model Ju 88, - Faster, better armed with even bigger payload.
The Ju87 is also needed for the CT.
Then the He 111. Everyone sais it would not survive in the MA, but that's what they also said about the Hurricane:D
The 111 actually had very interesting loadout possibilities, and was modified to do very many special tasks.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Late JU88's didn't carry much more load, modell a Ju188 (didn't carry much more load either) but faster in that case.

What Tac said, a Ju88 G (fighter modell).

He177 most important now I think, would give LW a real buff with a pretty good punch vs planes and a great punch vs the ground.

Me410 would be nice though :)

As a poorly related aside, I just happened onto this http://www.behindthestick.com/aircraft_evaluation.htm while searching for something else.  Read the bit at the bottom about a "dogfight" between a B-17 and an He-177.

See my sig.

We don't need any of the following at this time:

RAF aircraft

Luftwaffe aircraft

Late war American aircraft

Yeah, what TAC said.  A Ju-88G fighter.  Of course, the game doesn't model airborne intercept radar so we could get rid of the SN-2 aerials...but wouldn't it be neat to have a sight above your head to use with the Schrage Musik installation...but without the element of surprise it wouldn't be practical.

Nice lookin' bird, though.  Ju-88G-6 of Oberleutnant Walter Briegleb, Staffelkapitan 7./NJG2, Autumn 1944.  Briegleb ended the war with the 25 kills depicted on this aircraft.

I totally forgot about 88 fighter version.

Sorry, I would like to see an updated japanese planeset too, but the list of aircraft is a fairly long one. The LW PS is nearly complete.

Yes a 88 heavy fighter/night fighter would be nice.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

It will "never" be complete. Nor will any other plane set...

I say complete in some sort of gameplay manner.

for example, We dont need a 190A-6. We might need a 190A3 ;) though. Or we have a Spitfire MkI, we dont need a Spitfire MkII.

You catch my drift? Sorry for the confusion.
