Sheesh vehicles scope range SUCKS now

Was it really necessary to basically neuter ground vehicles? Ive been gone over a year, and how gimped the vehicle sights are now. Ack can hit you from MUCH farther away than you can even see it to target it it. Was that really necessary?

Maybe there is some trick I am missing, but when I zoom in on a score, the SCOPE AND HOLE get bigger, hardly anything in the distance gets biggers.

I have to agree with BotaBing on this one.

I don't get to play much anymore but I managed to get in the other day.

I saw a base under attack so I decided to jump into an Osty and drive to the base. I found a road and was almost to the base when I died.

It said I hit something?! In the middle of the road?!

Plus why did they get rid of the external view?

You can kill acks with an M3 before they start to shoot back at you...

Now you can also use the terrain to hide from ack and it won't shoot the ground looking for you

vehicles vs vehicles is better than it used to be imho

Mighty, you might have been hit by an enemy convoy from behind..the collision will kill you.  I know, I was at the wrong end of one of those collisions.

External view needed to go, it was too easy to set up an ambush when you are defending a field.

As far as AA goes, I've seen no significant change  in damage other than the fact that you can approach the AA from head on with a Panzer and sustain alot of 40 mm hits (remember, field AA is 50% .50 cal and 50% 40 mm), however, the thinner armour of the Ostie, it will usually knock your turret out pretty fast.  Get slightly sideways to the AA, and your tracks are gone.

Range of said AA hasn't changed at all and i DO GV's alot!

Im not saying the range of the AA has increased. Im saying that the zoom ability has been masssively nerfed, to the point that I cannot even land a tank shell on the AA to take it out.

Is it really a better game feature now that instead of being able to surf the internet, or get up and go to the freakin bathroom, while running a vehicle those first incredibly boring 15 minutes on the way to a base, instead now if you look away you run into a tree and die?

Tank zoom has never been changed.

Think he is referring to the FOV hitech.  

Personally i like it, as engagement ranges previous to the change were often 5k+
Now its much harder to get hits at that range.

Well, its a give and take world..while you die if you collide with the bigger trees (not shrubs), your enemy aircraft trying to get low and strafe you dies when he hits them too.   Personally, I'd like to see more obtacles on the ground so that its more of a tanker's paradise on the ground.  nothing like being out in the open

One thing I love most about this game is vehicles. Its not that I love vehicle simulations. Theres a billion of those.

What I love is that you can be in a vehicle with incredibly skilled pilots attacking you. I love the vehicle vs. aircraft aspects.

That said, one of the things I have noticed since coming back after a year long break is that the ability to shoot at field ack from a tank is completely different.

You used to be able to zoom in with the main gun scope and get a very good picture of the ack battery. Now i may not remember ever detail from a year ago, but I know without a doubt that the feeling of the tank has changed.

I have not been able to take out even one field ack before getting shot and killed within the first couple shots from that ack. The reason? I cannot zoom in far enough to even see where the ack is in terms of distance.

Same with vehicles. They are smaller in the scope now, you cannot zoom in as far.

Maybe im missing something, so please help me figure out what Im sensing here because I love the game especially the vehicle aspects.

Not being able to do stuff during the 15 minute vehicle approach really stinks.

Bota, zooming hasn't changed.  Take a look at your key mapping.  Find out which keys are assigned (if any! if none assigned, assign them!) and then try again, don't forget to use the Z key for zoom mode, then the corresponding keys for zooming in and out.

u can zoom in as far.... u just can't zoom in as far and maintain sight due to the smaller FOV thru the sight.

Killin field acks with the main gun was always tough if u used AP.  Even using HE is tough but doable.

I use mg's or osty cannon on field acks
The current AI AA model permits you to get quite close now

Im sitting here in a panzer right now, and I'm popping people who are between 4-6 away on the scope. They vehicle is so damn tiny I can barely see them at all.

Either i am doing something wrong, or the game has chaned, or something.

Please help me figure it out, cuz this sucks.

4 and 6 away?  You mean 4000 to 6000 yards away?  Hell if your hitting at that distance, you can be my gunner! (thats approx. 2.5 to 3 mile away!)

Try hitting z, then use the bracket keys for zooming in or out...if the bracket keys don't work, then they're not key mapped.
