Wow..Im so proud. And this means SOO much to me. Thank you. No..I mean it, THANK YOU Rude, for your wonderful "whine of the week"-threads.
I lost a 262 while typing the other night too, you should have heard the $1.000.000 whine I produced then...
I was SOO sure that I was all alone, and I saw a goon heading for a field of ours. I had just enough fuel to make it back so I didnt attack him myself. Instead I started typing on the radio "goon IB 24 (or whatever)". But I realized I probably needed to be a bit more specific.
Scene in cockpit of a Me 262:
Lt Hortlund, the pilot, struggles with map, zooming it in a bit so he can see the coordinates.
Lt Horlund -"Hmm..lets see, I am here, the goon was there I wonder what coordinates that is.
Lt Hortlund tries to make out the tiny coordinates on the map (he plays on 800x600).
Lt Hortlund -"Damn, the numers are too small. And I'm on maz map-zoom. Where is that other zoom button"
Lt Hortlund presses the "z" key, effectively filling the entire screen with the map.
Lt Hortlund -"Ahh, thats better, I can see the coordinates now"
Lt Hortlund brings up the radio buffer and begins to type "goon IB a24, 10 6 1 alt..."
RRRRRRRRRARARTATATATATATATATATATATATATA
Lt Hortlund -"Uh?"
TATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA
Lt Hortlund is sent to the tower
Lt Hortlund finds himself staring in disbelief at the screen
Lt Hortlund -" [$ 1.000.000 wine deleted to protect the innocent]"
On the positive side..I'm back to 17 fighter perks already, so I should be able to fly another 262 around midsummer...
