...tempest to TYPH, 262 and 234 to JET

As I understand it, whenever an allied pilot saw the 262 (or 234) the semi-official call was JET!!

The Temp has a way better k/d ratio than a Spit14?  Why am I not surprised?  ;)
Whatcha wanna bet the Temp isn't being used at 25-30K, outside it's envelope?  Unlike the Spit14's I've seen, which have mainly been used down in the weeds, not up high where they can shine.
Find a Spit14 driver who routinely keeps his fights above 18K, say around 23-25K, and I'll wager his k/d ratio is pretty impressive.
Find a Tempest pilot who routinely takes his fights up to the stratosphere and his k/d would likely be near the Spit14's current one.
I may be wrong, oftentimes I am, but I don't think the Spit14's k/d ratio in any way reflects how lethal that bird can be if it is flown smartly and within it's area of best performance, namely upstairs out of the furrballing.

eddiek,

And just for that reason the Ta152H-1 costs 20 points.  Whereas the Spitfire XIV, which also shines at high altitude (admittedly it is better than the Ta152 in the weeds) costs 60 points.

Maybe the Spit14 should be 30-40 points.

Or just leave it at 60 points.  Doesn't matter really.

S!

You'll see it in the Combat Theater for 2 points in the near future.  Along with a 5 point Me262.   ;)

Actually, the Allied pilots had a different call for them: "bl_wj_bs", which later had a completely different meaning.

The F4U-1C has 3171 kills and has been killed 1546 times.

This is a real plane.  Spit 14 is a kite with a lawnmower engine.

The 14 is not modeled right IMO. I fought a couple of stangs around 20k in it and the 51 flew circles around the 14. Is this right? Its a hi alt plane for sure but I really didnt think a stang could turn better than it. Of course the Stangs have flaps they can extend but it still shouldnt turn better than a Spit at high or low alt. Never did like the way they modeled the Spit14 in WB's and the way they did it in here is even worse. Hope the fix it but I doubt they will......

LLB OUT!!!!!
