Shy of becoming isolationists as we did from '35-41, anyone from the US agree with me that we should pull all foreign aid to the middle east?
My reasoning is this:  Not ONE Arab country is stepping forward like the US has to volunteer an ends to the means.  Not likely that Israel would listen to another Arab country but the gesture would mean SOMETHING...still pissed off about the Saudi Arabia "Telethon" that they had for the family's of Homocide Bombers week-end before last...

I'm strongly considering writing my congressman and Senator.

never happen so why bother

plus it'd be taken as a sign of US weakness by the nutbag Arabs encouraging future attacks on Americans.

Do you think that it would stop them from hating us if we stop supporting Israel? I don't. We are a good diversion for their frustration and misery - easier to hate us and our way of lfe than for them to pull themselves up into the 21st century .. after all we are the "Great Satan"

As nasty as it is, Israel is doing what needs to be done to minimize the terrorist threat to their ppl. If it comes to it, I hope America has the stomach to do the same....

I dissagree. If nothing else, keep spending money on Qatar, the best hope for Arab democracy in the region (yes yes, the Islamic Republic of Iran, that hope goes down the tubes each time the "moderates" try to actually do anything).

My foreign aid package would consist of a ripple from a Trident.

I would agree with ya Rip if it didn't mean that the Arab nations would bump the cost of oil up 200%.

Cut their aid and they will make up the money some where else.
Either way we pay.

I'd wait a bit before cutting off aid..Let's see what happens to Collin Powell's attempts at diplomacy...He seems to have had a calming effect on the region...But for how long?..When that is answered, cut em off(including Isreal).

NO FUGGIN' WAY!

You think things are unstable now? We're much better off coughing up money to help stabilize the region. Hopefully, we'll be helping to create a more 'diplomatic friendly' Iraq in the next couple of years, and then things will settle down a lot more.

Our Justice department is already accumulating information against people like the *Egyptian* Yassar Arafat, and a few other turds that have been disingenuous about their involvement in terrorist activities worldwide. I expect we'll be backing Israel wholeheartedly the next time they visit the West Bank.

Big no on that here too.

Cut em off then we can have a raffle on how many days it would be before Isreal is invaded by 4 nations.

Goodness, Milo... bad day at the office? ;)

Cut 'em all off.. no party money till the BS stops.

Deja, however many days it takes those 4 nations to gear up and attack.. it'll be far fewer days before the survivors make it back to their home countries..... assuming the home countries are still there and not glowing in the dark. I think even the Arab nations have finally figured out that open armed conflict with Israel is not in their own best interest.

Cut off all foreign aid to the Mid East? Hell, I think WE should start charging THEM for protection. I'll tell you what, you drop one nuke on Qatar just to show the other Arabs how we treat our friends, announce they are next if they don't start giving us free oil, and if anyone like Sadaam Hussein refuses then nuke him.

In fact this should be our new foreign policy- cut off foreign aid to ALL other countries and start charging THEM for all the free protection they've been getting for years. If we want Canadian trees then we should TAKE Canadian trees. If we want Swiss watches then we should TAKE Swiss watches.

Every other civilization- the Egyptians, the Romans, the Greeks, the Mongols- have exploited all other civilizations they've surpassed. Why is the USA the first great dominant civilization that gives AWAY all our stuff instead of TAKING all of their stuff? If Might makes Right then I say it's time to make everyone else pay.

We have concerned ourselves over trivial issues like why the French hate us, why the Irish are drunks, and why English food tastes like toejam. Screw all of them...the only friends WE need are our Nukes.
