Selective HOST feedback?
« on: April 16, 2002, 08:27:53 AM »
Due to the growing numbers in Aces High, I've gotten more an more annoyed with the HOST channel filling my text buffer with useless "Victory 1 by newbieIdon'tknow" messages.  It's gotten to the point where text communication is VERY limited because your message stays in the large text buffer for only a few seconds.  I've started using ".squelch 6" so I can just get my kill, assist and capture information, but that means that I don't know how my fellow fliers are doing.  I'd like to be able to congratulate my buddies if they're flying especially good missions or the newbies in my squad on finally starting to get kills without being swamped with excess info.

Here's my request
Could we have a section of the setup menu directed towards "HOST feedback" or some similar title.  In it would be a number of radial buttons that you can select for feedback.  These would include "enemy", "country", "mission", and "squadron".  Selecting these buttons allows the HOST to send you the applicable messages while leaving them blank filters it.

I don't know how hard it would be to code, but it would be REALLY nice

Excellent idea.

I would also like to have the system tell me :

"Victory X by Tac of =Twin Engined Devils=
You shot down XXX"

when I have ch6 squelched. Many a time im flying and having lots of fun, land and I find a friken huge amount of perkies earned.. and I have no clue how many I shot down. Like last night in my spit 1... flew same plane for almost an hour and a half, landed, and had like 50 something perks. One of me squaddies said he saw system say I had 6 or 8 kills. And here i am dumbfounded because I dont know how many they were lol.
