and I clearly  heard a "CRACK" the next thing I've seen was his arm having what we can call a "Non natural position" :D

I guess he won't be robbing anyone for a while, Straffo.  That injury takes a long time to heal :D

No HB, we were in Virginia mate.  The guy had a mason jar in his other hand that looked like it contained green milk, and I sipped it to make those guys happy.  They were very proud of their homemade brew.  No telling what was in it.:D

I used to work for a friend, a very successful general contractor, who seemed to be a bit accident prone. I don't know if it was because he was such a big target (close to 300 lbs) or what, but he had been hurt many many times.
As a young motorhead, he and several friends were looking at the running engine of a sports car at a gas station, when he felt something go through his upper arm. He panicked and began to run down the street as the blood pumped out. His friends thought he had been hit by a tool that might have bounced off the fan. Seeing how much blood he was loosing they drove after him, tackeled him, threw him in the car and drove him to the emergency room. He never lost consciouness and said he remembered the doctors squeezing plasma bags to fill him back up. They rebuilt his artery and he survived to get hurt many more times in the years to come. Turns out it was a 22 round fired form the woods about a half mile away, no suspects.
I was shot at sort of. We were all standing in a circle around a mud puddle after haveing just killed a few clay pigions, unloaded shotguns under our arms, when one of my "friends" directly across from me let go a shot at the mud. Everyone got wet and muddy. I thought it was an accident but he thought it was so funny, he ALWAYS said he did it on purpose. Busturd

I was Christmas shopping with my daughter (6 at the time), and I had just picked her up to cross a busy street, when my leg went out from under me. It felt like the worst muscle pull in the history of mankind. I eventually gathered my wits and hobbled to the car. Luckily it was an automatic, cause there wasn't gonna be any clutch pushing.

When I got home my ex helped me into the house and her stepdad (a doctor) was there. He looked at the back of my thigh, and there was a perfectly round red mark about 3/8" in diameter. Nearest thing we could figure was it was a nearly spent round from somewhere, that tagged my leg. Weird as hell.

True story

In my youth, I'd always wanted to go Deer hunting.  My parents are not hunters, but my Dad's best friend was and offered to take me if I passed the hunter safety and demonstrated I was responsible enough with a gun, etc.

After passing all the required hunting safety stuff the state of Maine requires, I was set to go.  I think I was 12 or so and pretty excited.  My Dad's friend, Tim, picked me up at 330 am and he already had the 30-30 and other equipment in the car.  We arrived at the location we were going to hunt 30 minutes later, a large strawberry field.  We loaded our weapons....he was carrying a 12 guage with double odd buckshot since some of the area we were going to hunt are thickets.  And I had to 30-30 since I was a good shot with it, and could peg whatever was out of range of his 12 guage.

Anyways, we went out and sat for a few hours.  Saw a few rabbits and such, but no deer.  He motioned me over and he whispered we were going to stroll over to the other side.  As we are walking, he is to my left, he has the shotgun in his arms with the barrel slightly over my head.  I hear him clicking on something...it turns out he is clicking the safety latch off and on as we walk.  Next thing I hear is a high pitched whistling, then a thunderous blast that knocks me down and yanks my blaze orange hat off.

By accident, he discharged the weapon when the safety was in the off position.  He figures it missed my head by 3 inches and it blew the pom pom off my hat.  I was deaf in one ear for 2 days and the hat took the brunt of the powder burns

Ok hb, here ya go.

First, a little background so you can understand the situation:
At this time my roommate and I had let a cute redhead we know stay with us for a week cause she didna have anywhere else to go.  She had just told some tard what to do with himself because he asked her to marry him after thier 3rd date.  Word got back to my roommate and I that this guy was running around saying if he couldna have the redhead, noone could, and he'd take whoever she was with too.

A little discreet checking with friends at gunshops turns up this tard had, in fact, purchased a double barrel 12ga after making the above mentioned threats.

So, here we are, about 3.30 in the morning, my roomate and I are in the backroom cleaning our weapons and looking at our newest acquistion, which he had just returned from picking up, a micro uzi (no, it hadna been converted to FA, thank God =)

We hear something outside, out front, and get real quiet to listen.  Someone's out front messing with one of the cars.  So with all our new found information about the tard we're off, me to go out the front and Dave (roommate) to go out the back and circle around.

Hopefully this diagram looks right (crossing fingers)

1- backroom
2- hallway
3- library
4-living room

I grab my .45 (Colt Goldcup), slap a magazine in and rack the slide I go through the hallway.  Through the library and into the living room, Dave right behind me with the micro uzi.  This is where several things happen in very short order.

Dave racks the bolt on the uzi
Dave trips over the trim strip in the doorway from the hallway to the library
The uzi barks once
My right leg goes numb
I yell "whoopeeit Dave!!!" and continue out the frontdoor (not slowed down at all) in time to catch a glimpse of a shadowy figure running down the street and around a corner.

Right out of the Keystone Kops.  But it gets better.

Standing on the front porch I sweep the front yard to make sure there's noone there.  Engage the safety on the Goldcup, set it on the bench and take a seat in the rocking chair holding my leg up.  Lights start coming on and everyone in the house is going "what happened, what's going on"  After a few minutes of waiting it's apparent noone's coming out front, so the next time someone says 'what's happening' I yell at'em "I've been f&#%ing shot, get me a gawddamn towel and my f&#%ing keys!"

In the ensuing confusion Dave comes out with a couple of towels, crying.  Jacob (a total tard friend who's into the whole Goth scene) comes out to see the blood.  Dave and I pile into my vette, him driving, and head off the hospital.  He decided to slow down for a red light and I had to slap him, telling him to make sure nothing is coming and run it, he can get away with it :D

All in all it was an interesting morning, and 2 days later I was back out playing V-ball.

I had to wrap up quickly since we had a nasty thunderstorm rolling in.

Yes, to end the story completely, Tim was pretty devestated at what could have happened.  Me, with my ear ringing like mad, checked my smoldering hat and noticed the pom-pom that was on it some 50 feet or so away.  It really didn't sink in until a few days later that (recall Im 12 or so at the time) wholly crap, my brains coulda been splattered across that field.

Tim did tell my folks about what happened and I've got to commend him, he drove me straight home after making sure I was ok, told my parents who then asked if I needed to go to the hospital about the deafness in one ear.  A few hours later, it was starting to improve, so we left well enough alone.

I did hunt with him the following year, and there was another gent in our hunting party who bagged a deer I spooked, and ran into his line of fire.

I haven't hunted since.  Not that I do not want to, or because of that bad experience.  Mostly, because as a pilot, I fly over a lot of the rural areas I'd want to go.  And Im amazed how many bright orange dots I see down there.  There's a lot of folks in the woods every season, and while accidents are down considerably, I'm just not ready to go back in.

When I was younger (14-15) we were running rampant in Shepherdstown WV, We were cutting through the back lots of the Trailer Park, (the only one in Shepherdstown) it was prolly 100-200 AM. Cutting through the last backyard which led to a Graveyard from the colonial era. I heard a door opening, I looked back only be hit by my friend, who was running. I finally caught a glimpse of what was going on. A man was standing with his 12 gauge aimed right at us! The sound of the door opening was actually the sound of him racking the pump!

And I never walked through that guys yard again.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Been shot at 3 times, nothing humorous about any of em.

Now, I did witness a friend create his own kevlar vest and have another friend test it out with a shotgun. It actually worked, but he had a nice bruised rib from his experiment. I doubt he'll ever do something that dumb again.

Yes. It wasn't fun. I peed my pants. Then I got up and did my job. So did everybody else. Nobody mentioned my pants afterwards.

And diddly you all very much.
