Newest Extreme sport invented!
« on: April 21, 2000, 09:15:00 AM »
This all happened innocently enough. A squad mate & I rolled F36 earlier in the week in panzers. We both hit the edge and quickly our hvy panzer shot down the hill.

Downhill Panzer raceing was born!

Later this week in that ever increaseing need to drive panzers down steep hills the following film was recorded.

(oops, film link not working)

While this new extreme sport of grabbing major AIR in a Panzer has not been recogniced yet. I urge everyone to give it a shot at least once.

Best is if you line up at the top with 2 or 3 good friends and all let it rip together!

Film captured at F23's West face. A very "Gnarly" slope indeed.

Heh heh, I have done the high speed panzer run.  Its a riot.  Pegged the speedo out at zero after going around the clock.  I have also seen air under my tracks watching with an outside view.  Funny.

One thing to warn any that find themselves at high speed, dont steer,  Let it run a straight line. Attempts to steer are almost always met with a lose of control and subsequent roll over.

And hit the terrain seams at a 90 degree angle, or  you can get "Air" in a bad way, ala, sideways..hehe!

LOL it takes a light hand on the joystick indeed!

As to speed I've seen it pegged at 0 (roughly 80 mph) only 1/4th of the way down. How fast is it moving at the bottom!

Reminds me of that computer comercial.

LOL, who'd of dreamed of a new extreme sport IN your computer!

A few days ago I got a tank up over 100 mph easy.  After almost an hour of driving up a steep hill I reached the top.  Once you get up to full speed in 6th, just quickly put it into neutral and HOLD ON!  I pegged the speedometer, but I knew I was still accelerating from the track sound.  (100 mph sounds like 2 squirrels ripping each other's intestines out.  )  When I hit the bottom of the hill I flew into the air, landed, and rolled for about 1 minute before I was back to 25 mph.

Lots of fun.
