Train-Sim sounds little boring; How do you play with it?
Maybe if players could add couple Acht-Achts and vierlings and so on...  :)

I could see it being boring for someone who has no interest in trains. It's basically just about driving trains and doing activities and stuff, although looking at the sweet graphics is fun too.

It's also nice to be able to play around with trains in there that have been extinct for a long long time, 50+ years. One example is the steam engine in the first pics. MS Train Sim is kind of like AH in that respect of keeping the past alive and envoking the imagination and nostalgia of a better time (in some respects).

I'd say Train Sim. Basically because of the wealth of mods out now, and the way the game is.

From what I've read, Trainz is better if your into creating new routes (laying track, bridges, trees, etc)--which from what I've heard is pretty easy. There are also no activities (simulations) in which to operate the trains with real world restrictions, schedules, etc--like you can in MS Train Sim.

Train Sim is about controlling single trains . The cabin views in MS Train sim are far better than that of Trainz, and I would also say that overall, the graphics in MS Train Sim are much better than than that of Trainz.

And most importantly.... theres no collision model in Trainz! So you can't collide two trains like you can in MSTS.

I bought  MS Train Sim last summer I think. Had some screen freezez and eventually gave up on it. I did enjoy it though, how can I get rid of screen freezez?

Nice pics btw.

VERY NICE screenies, i am thinking of getting MS Train Sim for my Dad, i just got him hooked up with his own PC and he is a real train nut.

How easy is it to use? is the user interface simle enough?

The screen shots looks sweet, how big are the areas? obviously MS flight sim are huge, are the modles just around the towns and the rest of the area just a sparce wilderness? or are they modled too?

It's pretty easy, the most difficult thing is learning how to maintain a good boiler pressure with steam engines. Also techniques for breaking and slowing trains down without causing damage to freight equipment or disturbances to passengers.

There are six routes each very long and detailed, checked out the site for more info:

Heh believe I'm interested about every thing which has engine in it. Guess I started to like trains when my cousin took me to train-hunt with Valmet 412 shotgun. We were real "hill-billies" that time (well not me but my cousin...) :D
