Those NON-SALUTING MOFO's!!!!
« on: April 17, 2002, 11:54:53 AM »
I gave you a and you gimmie crap?!
Damnit dude, I just don’t need that!
I chased you across the desert plains
I followed you across the depths of the seas
I try so hard to catch you don’t you see

Me and my 109 lookin’ for meat
I reckon I was around 20,000 feet.
A little black dot so straight and so fair.
Buff or not I really did not care.

The fuel was a burnin’ low
My patience, non-existence
But, I could not belive it!
‘Twas a Spitfire in the distance

I was hoping for a Bomber
Big fat and round
But ‘Twas a Spitfire
And one of us was going down!

You came right at me
With engine full speed ahead.
Both of us thinking the other will be dead
So, I just aimed my pipper right at your head

Straight on, you flew
Lookin so sly
Straight on, I flew
Hoping I wouldn’t die

If I killed you quick,
You probably would’ve sighed
I’m so sorry
But I was aiming just too high.

Around we went
In a spiral to the deck
And when we got there….
-this is where you said it when to heck.

You were on my six
Twistin’ and turnin’
I would have took a pix.
With all your guns goin’

I nosed her down
As I hit the gas
I was tryin’ to get you off my ass.

As I looked back I was really screamin’
I was pullin’ away in my yellow nosed demon
I was lucky I evaded your last attack
So I turned my craft to get you back

With my engine runnin’ hot and loud
I saw you pullin' away at 2.3K on or about.
You answered my turn with a 180.
I thought surely not another Head On, or Maybe?

Surely you did, and so did I
And that’s when you bellybutton I did fry.
So I gave you a Salute and that was that
But oh not you! You gave me crap!

You said how cheesy of me to head you on
I had plenty of chances of getting it on
You told me how you were always on my six
Ok.Ok. I said, then riddle me this
If you were so good and so sly
Then how in the hell did you die?
I killed you fair and square you little salamander!
Next time you want to fight, you can suck my d___!

That’s my story and all of it’s true
Now I don’t feel so blue
I gave you a and you gimmie crap?!
Damnit dude, I just don’t need that!

hehehe

It always amazes me when you hear the "Nice HO dweeb".  I've always wanted to say;  Well, let's see... YOU were 2.5k away... YOU turned back (probably because you were in a better turn fighting plane) and you expect me to break and give you a glimpse of my tail.

I'll take that shot anytime... and don't even talk about what will happen if you bail out of that smoking wreck  :D

Clue = Never fly directly head on always keep an angle off, if the enemy thinks hes gonna HO you its harder for him to hit with any angle and easier for you to avoid.

Clue 2 = If he turns better IE SpitV and has half a brain they will try a lead turn usually too hard for your 6, in your 109 / 190 merge from the right, wait until he is past the 3-9 line then do a gentle turn into him keeping your E, forcing him to burn E chasing you further around  the circle then start doing a  climbing turn to the left, Spits will be left wallowing and waiting for you to roll onto them and kill.

Clue 3 = If spit refuses to follow your plan fly on hes smart :)

Nearly forgot nice poem :)

All HO's are a 50% chance at best not good enough odds, always refuse them instead engage the brain and think of ways to gain advantage from them, the best ones are where you give them an advantage for a split second before snatching it back and chastising them severely :)

I might need some help with this one a but. I have tried that, and I have found that i have a high failure rate when i try this type of manuver. I am not saying it doesnt work, i just wish it worked for me. I always find that Spit on my six, after or durning, when i try to aviod a HO. In what  when you said  that part about a light turn could be a little more specific. what is "E" are you talking about the power curve? It's just the lingo i dont understand i think. ( I could be doing something seriosuly wrong) that spit always gets behind me and i have to run to 2.5 or 3.0K turn and another HO ensues:mad:  . Most of the time I try to keep distance and hope for my oppoent to make a mistake. I fly 109 and 190 most of the time. after seeing so many spits. i figure i will try to be efficient in killin' spits before i learn how to fly them , thus i just dont fly them yet. Oh, thier great A/C (Spits), must be they keep killin' me. any help you could give, and i'll buy you a beer.

Actually, the stuff Cavalier points out works.  It might take a couple of passes to get it done, but it works... at least for me in the FW190-A5.

Lately, I've been doing exactly what he's pointing out.  First, I make sure I'm going pretty fast at the initial engagement.  I break from the HO, letting the Spit pass my left wingtip.  Most will either pull a hard Immelman to gain angles on your six (burning E as they turn hard) or a nice hard flat turn (again burning E).  As they do this, I've been doing a lazy climb to the left making the Spit pull even harder to bring his nose to my tail.  I usually separate to 1.8d or less (usually less) and set up a similar approach (where the Spit will more times than not... oblige me with the same E burning moves).

Sooner or later, they are flipping and flopping, listening to the stall horn and the sounds of my rounds pinging them.  Now if the Spit extends and doesn't try for that quick snapshot on the lead turn... I start to worry.  :D

Sometimes, I find it tough to do this in a multiple bandit environment, but that's usually due to a little bit of tunnel vision on my part.  My SA doesn't really suck THAT bad, it's just I've worked this guy down and I WANT the kill!!

Ok, just so I have this down:

1) You gently break the HO to get the opponent to pass on your left.
2) His reaction is hopefully going to be be to crank hard to his left because that is the side you passed on.  (I would have fallen for this.  Won't anymore.  Just got better.  Thanks.)
3) You make a gentle climbing turn to the left that trades some speed for some altitude.  (That is the 'E' for energy part that someone else asked about.  Kinetic energy or potential energy, in general don't give up one without gaining the other.)
4) He will hopefully pull very hard to get on your six but in the process will bleed off a bunch of speed with little gain in altitude since tight turns are very spendy.
5) You watch for the wing wobble and then swing down for the kill.  (Or in my case the miss of the impossible to miss shot followed by lawndarting into the sand. ;-)

Yeah in my case it goes about the same..

I 'trick' the spit to turn after me..

I gently turn and climb, watching him follow and stall..

No, wait.. he's not stalling.. he KEEPS ON CLIMBING..
Where on earth he got that E??

Oh noo he's at d500 already and spraying like crazy..
Even though he's virtually stalled he manages to ping the wingtip off my 109 with his dweebspanos..

Spit stalls, I lawndart with a missing wingtip.
