Joystick problems
« on: April 21, 2002, 09:48:40 PM »
I have a MS Precison Pro USB and I am running WinXP Professional on a Athlon T-Bird 1.2Ghz.

The problem is:
My joystick worked perfectly up until about a week and a half ago.  It suddenly developed a 'jitteryness.'  I don't know how else to describe it.  The problem is not just in AH either, if I go into the control panel and go into game controllers and look at the properties the display that shows the joystick's position jumps all over the place.  If anyone knows about this problem or has any idea how I could fix it I would greatly appreciate it.

I have tried the joystick on a different computer and it works fine, so it is not the joystick that is the problem.  The jitteryness makes dogfighting completely impossible and I would really hate to have to unsubscribe because of a problem like this.

poll with interrupts disabled?

I had a jitter and control problem with an old Ppro, it was caused by a broken wire in the stick...

Likely not the prob you are having but hey..

Someone else told me to check the poll interrupts setting but WinXP doesn't have that option to enable/disable.  I know it's not the joystick because I tested it on my roommates computer to make sure it wasn't the joystick and it worked perfectly on his computer.
