out of curiousity rooks...
« on: April 24, 2002, 01:52:33 AM »
do any of you have numbers like this?

kills of

C-47A  42
P-38L   40
F6F-5   38
P-51D  32
B-17G  30
Lancaster III  21
Bf 110G-2  20
P-47-D30  18
B-26B  15
TBM-3  6
Mosquito Mk VI 6

do you see what i'm getting at?  these are all offensive platform kills with strong ordnance capabilities - except for them poor goonies.

i don't often hang over a base being attacked, so these are more often than not kills closer to an enemy base, prevented from reaching target.  ok, ok, not all the fighters would have been heavy, but... then again, i have no way of knowing how many bogies i've made dump ord to gang me near their base, either.  :D

and most of these kills were in a pony  or spit. :p

interdiction... think about it.  ;)

I'm impressed, you mentioned something about "Honour and Sportmanship", didn't you?  Hypocrite.   Remember, curiosity killed the cat.  The people on top usually crow, forgetting that in the end, it all evens out.  Keep thinking this is a sprint, because its a marathon.

Feel free to do a calculated reply because I won't read it.

Lol, you are very funny. Saying that is like, Starting a fight with another person, and saying, i am gonna punch you, but you cant punch me back. In the end, despite what you said, you will get beaten.

Great... I would be much obliged if you would take your pee 51 and circle the base I am furballing from at say.... 20k.   It would help my fun a lot if you would kill every talentless fluffer that tries to suicide/milkrun the fighter hangers to kill the fun.

I will kill all the low spits and lags and such that I can.    It should work out great.

I would have to look at my stats, which I generally avoid doing...

...my rebuttal is, as always, "Yes, but did you have fun accumulating those stats?"

Shane my apologies, I am just tired of heaing people gripe about "low numbers" online.  You are doing your part and that is all we can ask of you as a fellow rook.  I am new but am getting much better and have tallied my first three kills (5 hours total in MA) and an assist.  They will get higher, but we have to work together.   I looked at my stats once, believe I have been shot down enough times.  But I think about it this way, I sacrificed myself so my teammates (Rooks and squad) could nail the enemy concentrated on me.

Shane:

Considering that most of my kills are in close and done either defending a base according to what I see on Dar or, off a CV defending or jaboing a field, I can honestly ...no. Btw, your perspective I assume, is from the lone wolf point of view; not everyone flies that way. I agree with you about interdiction though but, it's not the only situation that is required in the MA.
I note also that many of your kills are of Buffs, nice work if you can get it. When I am upping to defend, I usually see buffs at alts anywhere from 18 to 30K; with many of them at 30k. I for one don't want to climb to those alts to play footsy with alt monkees; I'd prefer them to come down. Many of the fiter types do because thats where the action is.
IMO what you post works for you, and may not be best for an entire country ;) But, on behalf of Rooks everywhere, thanks anyway  :D  Based on the events of last night in the MA, I think Rooks can handle their own very well ;) However, if you find yerself flying Rooks sometime, we can always use an intrepid sort to patrol where the air is thinest, and bring them damn alt types down where the rest of us can keel em :D

that's teh thing stryder... i pop the buffs at sub-10k alts.  why even let the enemy get alt in the first place.

fighting low, defending *at* a base, really doesn't do much except provide a ton of perkies for the offense. the ones you're engaging are merely low, light fighters.  stop 'em before they even drop in the first place, or make them dump ord mid-way between their target.

low rook nbrs don't bother me, just saying flying effectively isn't so hard to do. i seem to be just about the only one doing what i do.

look at the nbrs again... goons are pretty much the most plane-types i've killed, saving your precious rooks bases from being taken and ending your lil low furball.  not that furballs are a bad thing, but an offensive furball makes more sense than a defensive one, no?

i really could care less about resets.

My kills are more evenly divided as are the planetypes I fly.

I have flown mainly base defence though, numbers have been 2:2:1 to our disadvantage which leaves me no options really.

mrsid2 -- love the four chute kills -- Love it when the enemy decides to dive on you and looses control and smacks the ground.
