Is It Stick Stirring Or....

...a bad connect?
I've seen opponents do that little dance, ya know when the bogies plane twist, turn and flop around just before zooming off at full speed in a compleatley different direction than they were traveling? Seems this is happening a lot more these days :/

I've seen is to MrLars. More than remember in the past.  It may have something to do with larger numbers in the arena.

Well, just recently I witnessed for the first time the so called flop-flop-move. I was chasing a Tempest at high speed in my chog at distance of 900 yards and I was gaining. Then the Tempest nosed up a little and sort of like uh... flopped and in the next second was coming almost straight at me and flew over my head. The plane didn't reverse fully though, only partially but it was damn close to a straight head on situation.

there is no stick stirring in AH . if you do it you'll get

"Don't move your controls so rapidly" Message and your controls will be frozen for a few secs..

Sometimes you get funny behavior of A/C when they do maximum performance rolls (especiallly FWs and F4Us because they roll the fastest) and your Front End can not keep track of the other A/Cs position.. that looks quite erratic sometimes..

No stick stirring in AH eh?  I wouldn't be so sure of that...

I saw some quality stick stirring tonight myself from a Typhoon.  (Not the first time from this particular typhoon do this either.   )  I never mention names on the BBS, but I'm sure many of you know who I'm talking about.

This particular typhoon would roll 180 degrees in less than 1 second in evasives, then he would jump up and down by about 100 ft at a time, often times hitting the ground on my FE.  He didn't take any damage either.  Basically he was trying to get me to fly near an ostie of his and running rather than fighting. The ostie got me, but not until after my guns found their mark.

I sincerely hope the pilot in question is not cheating.  He is in a highly reputable squad and should not need to resort to gaming the game to get kills.  Regardless I now have 3 films of fights with him, and every one has something highly odd. I'm just trying to decide what to do with them...

(I won't name names on the BBS.  I've seen what that invariably results in.  If he or his squad CO wish to see the films, I can e-mail them.  I would like to hear their side of the story.)

Bloom, i hope you aint talking about who i think you are. If it is then he does not employ any cheat tactics in any form.

Most likely lost or slow arriving packets or some kinda glitch like that.

If you are talkin about who i think you are, i'd love to see the films.

Well, I hope you are not thinking about who he is thinking he is, because if that was so, I'd be thinking that you were thinking about who he was thinking he was.

S!

I have seen this strange behaviour as well. While we were defending a field from capture, there was bombers attacking it.While I was lining up for a shoot, the plane suddenly warped from 400d to 5.2k!WTF I thought.Soon it turned back and same happened! Also the C47's that tried to goon the field did same thing. They warped in,dropped goons and warped out!I think this has to do with net lag,but hey pretty convenient warps to avoid destruction. This was witnessed by several pilots defending the field.
Enemy fighters did not warp this way though.I haven't seen behaviour like this before and not after that in such large scale.Gotta get the film viewed so You can't flame me of talking crap here.

bloom25, I've seen the effect you describe several times and, curiously, always done by  Typhoons. Dont remember if the same pilot was involved into all the cases, but same plane type for sure. I havent seem the same effect with 190s, supposedly with better roll rate than Typh. I think it is a poor connection related problem but, anyway, IMO Typh roll rate is way exagerated in AH while 109 roll rate (even at lo-med speeds) is way ...

and he shoots BACKWARDS TOO! !!!

Yahhoooo let the hunt begin

Seriously .. 99% of this is netlag / variance and position updates not coming thru at high G (lottsa position/attitude change) situations.

i see a little of this in AH but to put it in perspective... the worst warp rolls/micro warps in AH wouldn't even be noticiable in WB when I was there.
